New work. Berlin ePrix race track. Still in the early stage, so a lot of work is up ahead.

I need your opinion, please. Which PoV is better for this tasmanian rwl track? :) The red areas are roughly where trees and much vegetation is going to be added. Of course there are going to be trees in other areas as well, but in these areas it may affect driving...

LF1 is rotated 90° counterclockwise and has a bit lower view angle.

LF2 is the current default angle.

LF1 is much better, it feels like you are closer to the racing and see bigger part of the racing track more properly.
Also the track is more evenly spread across the screen so that feels better composion wise as well :).
btw nice road race, I look forward to it :bg:.

I also think LF1 is better, and I would not be able to explain the reasons better than Dan did.

If there is trouble with trees blocking the view, I think "photorealism" should be sacrificed for the sake of drivability. But I think people tend to overreact when it comes to trees blocking the view, in fact, I think a lot of times they can add an enhancing gameplay element :gpush:

The train track is very, very cool, but I think it would be better if it was in a /‾‾\ shape. (not |‾‾|)

LF1 is considerably better, it highlights the most essential parts of the track, so there is no question if you are asking about aesthetic values; but the bridge over the first corner is a critical point. It covers the whole corner, I cannot see the apex so I suppose it affects the gameplay greatly and it shouldn't be like that, really. If I'm right about that, you would probably need to adjust view angle or simplify that bridge somehow.

I also prefer LF1, it's a bit more work now but that's alright, because it's a lot better, I think.

Aleksi, what do you mean about the shape of the train track? The height map around it? At least on the front there hasn't been done any work yet,on the backside it will stay approximately like that. If you mean the tunnel, take a look at the photo link at the end of this post and I'll wait for your idea how to improve it :mrgreen:

Lorenzo, you're right about the bridge and that it covers a lot of the corner. I'll try to change the view angle a bit :bg:


By the way, if anyone of you has an idea how to make this bridge better, tell me please :D

I present to you my newest WIP. This is a fictional race track known as Soije Raceway. 7 corners including on corner you need to late apex add to the trickiness due to no banking.

Massive update!!! Have placed about half the tracks walls, some sandpits. Made some of the grandstand areas ect. Also nave added AI lines that seem to work relatively well.

This is a cart racing track outside of New Castle, Indiana. It's a pretty neat track, and I thought it would be cool to have in GR. Well, I got this far in SnakeDitor 1.40, and wound up abandoning it due to not having time or energy or tools (I have nothing to edit BMPs like I used to) to complete it. The AI line is thoroughly tested. It just needs some visual pizazz added to it. Anyone wishing to pick it up, it's yours, I don't need the kudos.

Zip contains GR and SnakeDitor files. If you are looking for the track on a map, it's at the southeast corner of I-70 and Indiana 3 between New Castle and Spiceland.

Looking good. Looks pretty close to the real thing. Will definitely have to download it and finish it for a throw back to my karting days in the WKA

In my opinion the tarmac is too monotonous and surroundings of the track lack details. But looks promising :bg:

PS I don't say, that I can do better tracks ;) .

Thought I would create something in the spirit of the original GR tracks for a change.
I just don't have any ideas, what make on that currently sandy middle area, at the moment. Any suggestions?

You have to change kerbs. Track should be more wide.

More barriers and other objects, less empty places.
