Hello,

I am new here... :)
...and tried to build a balatonring circuit, and I would like to get some critics on it.
Please leave a comment when you will have time, there is probably a lot to fix and I would like to improve...

Thank you very much,

thx26

First track? looks very good for a first track :bg:

PS: I noticed that this is a real world track, you should use a proper tag for this track type, in this case [rwl], and make spaces between both tags, "[rwl] [cir]", any doubts about the tags you should read this thread Handbook for uploading of tracks

PS2: Sorry for backseat moderating :shy:

You can make tarmac dithering (look at Otto's last track).
You can improve pits with some paint work.
Road to circuit is too wide. Make it more realistic.
Public space in bottom can be much better. Add tarmac, telephone poles, lights, ect.
It looks amazing for first track.
Is this circuit made on plans of future Balatonring?

I like your track how he already is, pits are just a little bit to wide! :)

Oh cocney, he can make, but he didnt, and like my last track, it was a lot of paint's pencil, mostly all 'hand drawed", one advise to Thx26, you can try, experiment, but dont make definitive what you dont do well (just look at the game industries nowdays, they do a crappy and buggy thing, leave this way, and then sell to us ;) )

BTW, there is a thread for Ideas and W.I.P.s, you could get advise for your next track there

Hey All,

Thanks for all the responses,
Well, its not a first track, I have a lot of trash of course :-) but also some other tracks, if you want to check...
When I was looking for some tracks, I found out you miss zolder and balaton... zolder was my second "real project, but someone was faster.
Which tool do you use for drawing the hmap? And what colors are the GR colors in 256 color scheme? I am lost in this.

to Otto:
-I was not sure with the rwl - this circuit does not work, it is not even built, does it?

to cocney:
-I was trying to put a michelin logo line onto a pitlane, do you have any advise?
-The area is made per project, the outside is drawn by hand in track editor.

to Glen:
- these are bit too wide, true.... but its a le mans syndrome... I prefer wide pits :-)

Thank you guys, any other feedback welcome...

Hmap, the GR Trackeditor and Hmap Editor/Edit (i dont remember, you can find it in the tools section though), and Generally doesn't work with 256 colours, you need to export a Landmap with the Trackeditor to have the right palette, its 16 colour btw, about the tags, i already saw the [rwl] tag on some tracks that were not built yet, like the Austin F1 circuit and the Indian GP, they were built and are working now, but those released versions forementioned were made before the real thing was finished, or even started maybe...

Outstanding for your first track!
The only things that will need adjustments are:
-the pit entry/exit lines
-AI lines (better racing lines for better lap times for AI and better 'battles')
-add some sunken tyres at every corner, except for the first 2 corners (obviously) and at checkpoints 12 & 13

9.7/10! :o

I hate the sunk tyres - I understand their function - no track cutting.
But I rather use the road cones placed on the edge of kerbs.

Is the sunk tyre any rule in the trackmaking?

QUESTION - I have some other tracks for you to check. Do you think its better to upload them separately to new toppics, or would anyone mind if I will make a zip of all the tracks and add it to this toppic?

Thanks guys, any feedback still welcome :-)

NNOOOo!!! make it like you want, i don´t like sunktires to, I prefer to make the AI cuting to than add sunktires :)

Do tracks on your own style, they are enought realistic tracks here...

You mean finished tracks? Separately in new topics unless they have a good reason to be in a trackpack. :)

For me, great track! If this is your first track, then I predict a good future: D
