[oth] Dogville

Post by TuomoH »

Dogville is an artistic track inspired by the movie of the same name. It's situated in a city but instead of actual buildings, stationary cars etc. it uses ideas of them. The layout isn't the most imaginative but with some hmap and tight racing it can still be fun. The AI has been designed for the General.

Please enjoy and feel free to comment. :cool2:

the invisible wall at the word 'TRUCK' is probably the only thing that should be changed, it causes the AI to always crash into it. Overall it is a brilliant track ^_^
haha tricked you ;P

Thanks. :)

Does the AI hit the "truck" with General? Which AI level are you using? Does it happen at certain time during the race? During my tests it occasionally hits it but to my mind only just enough to make the races more interesting.

yes, it hits the wall @ AI 125+. Plus i play most the time with at least 20% damage on, so it can be a real pain if you were to even touch the wall

Ok, I see. The thing is that AI above 100 is actually cheating with having more grip than the player which also means that they start turning into the corners earlier than usual. My AI has been optimized for 100 or a bit more so if I made it perfect for 125+ it'd be too slow for the AI levels most people use. :)

Awesome track, especially the scenery is very nice. :) It's fun to drive on this "imaginary" city :D :yummy:

Unfortunately I missed that movie, so first thing coming in my mind after seeing the screenshot was rather the annoying House md series, maybe because of chosen font too.

Maybe a cone in front of the discussed truck would be handy. Anyway, you're right very much about the layout & hmap interaction. But maybe one more twist (e.g. another truck on outside of grid) would be good. :)

5/5. :bg:

Thanks, Ivo. :) It isn't exactly like Dogville as you can see from the attached picture, and House MD came to my mind as well when creating this track. About the cone, I actually thought about it but decided that there should be one place where you can easily hit a solid object. :)

Still some more comments?

Very original like your others tracks ! (I like original tracks, there are too much real world tracks that I don't be interested anymore on them ... )

Fun to drive on, great idea from the movie, good job again ! :bg:

Did you think about raised zebra crossing(s) to make the hmap more exciting?

Very good track again from you :) Maybe it would be nice to see also a bigger track with this style covering a larger area of a city and with more complex layout...

Thanks, mates. :)

Emil, no, I didn't think of the zebra crossings but it's a very good idea. I'm not promising a bigger city even though it's a tempting idea. :cool2:

Still something else?

Hi bragi, cool to see you here, and thanks.

I always loved your tracks, what about a first track after 8 years? Surely time for Bralli_22-1. :hiya:
