[ral] Snowstone

Gravel, tarmac, snow. Whatever the surface, you'll find it here.

[ral] Snowstone

Post by egamad »

:gr: Snowstone :gr:

When the snow is thawing 'way, GeneRally I will play. I came up with that myself.

I was so happy when the snow started to thaw last week, I had to make a new track with that theme. But unfortunately we have snow again here.. :coffee: Anyway, I kept the track. :lol: It's a FSR with 185ws. I hope you'll like it.

The road sure looks great. Just that water doesn't suit so well with snow theme. Shouldn't there be like ice?

Maybe it is meant to be the thawing time mentioned by egamad. :shrug:

It looks wonderful. Great track. :clap:

I hate this part of the year, when snow starts to thaw and it's wet and slushy everywhere. Then comes the minus temperature again, slush and wet on streets freeze, and it's icy and slippery everywhere :stretcher:

Anyway, to the track... It is hard to drive, but not too hard. This makes the track very fun to drive on :yummy: As Quklis said the road, and the whole track too, looks great :bg: :bg:

However there are 2 small things bad here. In the top-right corner, AI's sometimes hit a stone and fly behind the tree and lose a second or two. And the other thing what I don't like, as usually in rally tracks, that the pitcrews are in a group in a difficult place, even if there's a good place for them to be as in circuits, here for example beside the S/F straight (though not anymore since there are objects)

Thanks guys for quick comments. :)

@Quklis: Like Ivo said, the snow is thawing, and also is the ice. I based the track on the conditions we had here a week ago, and the ice was long gone by then. ;)

@TGF: :iagree:

@Aleksi: Strange, I don't think that ever happened to me. With which cars does that happen? And about the pits... I actually gave a lot of thought to the issue. And like with most of my rallies I decided that I want a convincing landscape that is not originally ment for racing. And if that was the case in real life, pits would have to adjust to the landscape and not vice versa. Hence the poorly placed pits. :shhh: :P

@Haq: thanks, and it's no surprise that I had one of your tracks in mind while making this.. Guess which? :sherlock:

@Fechna: great that you like it, but I was a bit disappointed because you didn't comment Avdazer Loop and Rump Stage, which are loopstages that I made on your request.. :kickcan:

@TLN: great that you like it..just too bad that it has to be "almost" life-like.. :P
