[cir] Benett Gardens (The Benett 100)

Post by ADx_Wales »

Best with the 1911-1914 Vintage carpack.

This is a track I was just about ready to finish off, but then the RSC Forum closed, little did i know that THIS site existed, so here's my finished work, the zip file contains a backstory folder, despite its ficional state, the story will try to get you closer to the atmosphere.

But correct the tag, it has to be [cir] and not [CIR] :hiya: !!

Capitals or not? Doesn't matter. At least to me. However shape of brackets is important to differ tag, so they must be squared. ;)

It matters depending the forum's script takes them in consideration or not  In example, Linux servers make a difference between B & b while windows ones don't... Anyway... :ugeek:

The track is decent, but too wide for my taste. And as artsy the pictures are, the POV in the game doesn´t deliver that atmosphere, that the B/W pictures promise.

Well but I see a lot of potential, and having a track with "GPL"- character is totaly worth a download! Respect for that! :hattip:

I couldn't resist making sepia and black and white pictures for this track, its a shame that I know how to make a track (no matter how badly), even though I have photoshop I'm reluctant to use it, yes it would be a lot easier for me to make the dither textures.

It would be brilliant if it were possible to adjust the "in-game" colours to make the historic venues that much more appealing but not all tracks are oldies.

Fechna, Thanks for the constructives and the nod.

Hey, you´re approach is really nice. Just make your tracks in a width, that doesn´t differ so much! You´ll see how much better it looks immediatly! And try to make an In-Game POV with an interesting angle. That does so much for atmosphere!

Now I remember why I made it, it was through the interest in the 1911-1914 GP Car pack, and there werent any circuits that were from that era, the closest track that was built was either Nepliget Park, or another one (which name I've forgotten), but they were from the late 30s, which was a completely different era, these cars were from the "chitty chitty bang bang" era, and if anyones seen the beginning of that film there was varying road surfaces aswell as track width, It was also an attemp to mimic Brooklands, but in order to make Brooklands theres going to be a mammoth shortcut because of the start/finish pitlane that goes through the middle of the kidney shaped oval, and putting the anti-shortcutting oil there would have just ruined it.

It's explained in the fictional backstory folder about how this track ran before Brooklands, if neeeds must I could post the entire story in here if nobodys "buying" it.
