[cir] Lehcolo

Hello guys.

Time for next track. :)

Lehcolo is a small long-abandoned circuit, being slowly and peacefully absorbed back into nature. But still enough good for some unsanctioned racing. :misch:

I was aiming for very simplistic lmap, 2 colors additional to grass (one to dithering, other to layout) and very simplistic, trivial look overall - the track in core and some surrounding by harmonic nature in background not disturbing us from racing by any aggressiveness, which various eye candy stuff create. :shake2: If you cannot live without it, you'll probably find the track looking bit boring, but I cannot do anything with that. I hope at least somebody will like it, have fun.

Finally my huge thanks for invaluable feedback to testers. :bg:

BTW Pack includes 2 versions - for widescreens (W) and regular 4:3 (N) resolutions. Choose the one, which fits better to your needs. :)

Well, if the author hadn't been you, I would have described this work a rather generic-looking track made by a less experienced amateur, just without "beginner's mistakes". Don't get me wrong, though, you are a skilled trackmaker, - I am not doubting that - as you have proven yourself more often than not in the past, just your works are lacking extraordinary characteristics, to put it in a nutshell, hence my initial statement.
I am sure everybody will agree with the fact that one doesn't have to become an [rwl]/large WS-specialist nor an artist like, say Emil or Kikwik. Scholl, for instance, has got a similar style compared to yours and he achieved fame successfully.

Your track received the first positive feedback despite not being as jaw-dropping as the works by those who I've mentioned previously (except for Scholl maybe).

Thanks, Dukla. :-) This track was not intended to be anything like a screnshot ''jaw-dropping'' effort, even on contrary. ;-)

Some gameplay feedback or any other ideas or impressions? :yummy:

While not particularly interesting visual wise, this track is another one of those tracks that is "GR style", that is, simple yet playable, like the tracks that came with the game. Although this particular track probably won't see much play time from me due to the unusual nature of the track surface, it is a nice kind of throwback track and looks like it would be right at home with the default tracks.

I think it´s a nice track, and if you wanted to create a simple, driveable track, you did a great job! :bg:
My personal opininion is, that the track is too narrow for racing against AI.
Also I don´t like bushes on the inside of corners. They block the view on the apex and I never know exactly how close I can drive towards them.

To add my coin in the discussion: I think it doesn´t make sense to compare tracks. at leat only to a certain degree.
I know it´s a bad comparison but nobody says that the "Mona Lisa" is "better" than "The Scream".
It´s just different and valuating a track should always depend on the original intention the trackmaker had for it and the way he executed his idea.

For instance if you compare my tracks Lime Rock and Ylxaowheol.
Of course Lime Rock took a lot (and I mean A LOT) more time and effort. Still I wouldn´t say that it´s the better track.
Personally I like driving on Ylxaowheol more...

@ puttz: thanks. :bg: Yes, there can be seen some similarity to default and some early player-made tracks. :) I'm glad you like it and understand the concerns about surface. I was trying to balance it, so I hope most road cars have even here not too much, but still enough of grip. I think, if something can make a problem to AIs, then rather bumps, especially on entrance to 1st hairpin, if a car has way much more or much less grip than Formula/General.

@ scholl: thank you for comment too! :shy: I'm racing on this track 10km races with formula and general mostly, always against 6 AIs (on 100), so I can guarantee it's possible, feel free to ask for replay, if you wish a proof. But of course I'm already familiar with the track and AI behaviour, so I understand that for you it may look like now way too tricky. For that reason Mini is probably best choice for first races here, after some races I believe you'll be able to switch to a larger car too. :bg: And the bushes, yes, but I like the opportunity to explore where the thin border is.

Some more comments, please? :)

This one really reminds me of the rally tracks made by Dan and onder, I wonder if all Czech trackmakers are inclined to make this kind of tracks

The combination of layout and hmap is wonderful, maybe just a tad too tight in the later half of the track. I don't like using bushes as a sunk tire replacement, since you tend to get stuck on them, but it doesn't bother too much here.

The track gives me a rural feeling, it's refreshing to see something that looks a bit different from how most of tracks look nowadays :bg:

Simple lmap+hmap and layout.. I like these simple stuffs. :) The only problem i have is the narrowness of the track. But after i got the right racing line, the narrowness become manageable. Aside of this, its a really nice track. :)

I'm glad the track entertained you a bit, guys, but I'm not really sure, if it's anyhow typically Czech. :-D And the bushes, I somehow learned to drive around them, so I use them quite often near tracks on road tracks or so. :frying pan: IMHO it's quite hard to be really stuck in it, only if one drives head-on into it, which is quite large (=> uncommon) driving error.

BTW @ Frukis: because we hadn't any halfstar among smilies - until now. :)
