[ral] [stg] [tpk] Corona Rally

Gravel, tarmac, snow. Whatever the surface, you'll find it here.

[ral] [stg] [tpk] Corona Rally

Post by CamrosX »

I finally finished it. Took me quite a bit to find some spare time.

Corona Rally is a series of 6 stages based on desert WRC stages (Portugal, Mexico and such)
Stage 1 is a blast through a Mexican style villa leading to the mountain stages. (60 % asphalt , 40% gravel) Stages 2-3 are tricky offroad stages, with stage 3 having a few water crossings. (95% gravel, 5% mud)
Stage 4 leads down the mountain and through a small town. (70% gravel, 30% asphalt)
Stage 5 is a road stage entering and exiting the stadium. (70% asphalt, 30% mud)
Stage 6 is the final, and most difficult, leading up and down a mountain pass. (90% gravel ,10% asphalt)

I've done these stages with the original rally, but found it best to use a faster WRC car as some of the stages are very close to 60 seconds.

Good stuff. :hattip:

Some of the stages are really long, hard to be perfect on the roads. :yummy:

I really like stages 1 and 5. Not because they are the only stages that I'm good, but it's because I really like it. I love to race in big stadiums (Speedway doesn't count that much) or only using them as a background (no wonder why I want someone to make Mexico City WITH the Foro Sol).

Nice use of invisible walls in the town! As Bruno said, I like rallies that go through a stadium, gives a fun sense of scale.

It makes me want to do the whole thing in one go, like on your map... One for GR 2 maybe? :D
