[tpk] 1950 F1 Season Tracks

Post by jxeboy »

Hello everyone, it is my first post here, but I've had this game for what seems like forever now. I have made tracks on and off since I first got the game, but nothing ever "post-worthy". I decided I would start a project though. I want to make old F1 tracks. Now obviously since some of these tracks were incredibly long I will have to more or less "represent" them. But some can be made pretty accurately. I'm just not sure if my track making abilities are good enough as of yet to post these and have people actually download them. So I decided id attach a screen of my first track and see what you guys think, and maybe get suggestions on how to make it better, or if by chance it's good enough perhaps post it.

So here is the first track screen, let me know what you think.

It is of Silverstone 1950, the very first F1 grand prix.

looks quite oldschoolish judging by screenshot :) but it looks nice
I´m sure I will try it if you´ll attach track itself in zip :D

EDIT: I´d zoom it and rotate a bit
EDIT2 :D : I found this pagewhere you can see some pictures from 1950 season, maybe that can help you with next tracks :yummy: keep this style :hiya:

ok, so we just have a picture, however i would post the zip, else it will be moved to the preview thread, and tbh, if you think its done, i would post it as i quite like the look of it. ok, its a smaller scale than what i think most people are used to however i think this works well and it looks nice.

a couple of things i would change, like those LMap people, which doesnt look too nice, i prefer a few 2x2 pixel squares (but thats just me). but just a few historical details, like the hangars on hangar straight which i think were still there in 1950  but its simple, small and a bit GRish

and funny, as i was thinking about doing the 1948 version soon perhaps...

Screenshot with default palette would be more useful.

And BBA is right, if you want, post the first track too or the topic will be merged with Previews and ideas. ;)

If they're W.I.P.s, then you should've shown the image in that thread ;) However, I don't have any objections to the palette usage.

I think it looks very nice. Keep making these tracks. I would be very thankful for 1950 Monza. ;)

Actually it was the first F1 Driver's Championship race, as the actual Formula 1 rules were adopted in 1946/47. I know, I'm nitpicky :P .

Anyway, small rwls are always lovely but you should pay more attention to the surroundings. Great job, though.
