That's right, Experiments in Minimalism is back in action with the 7th installment!
This time I approached the pack by creating 6 Track Editor Only tracks in 6 different track genres: [cir], [ovl], [ral], [roa], [stc], and [stu]. The tracks were created with hotlapping in mind (recommended car for tarmac tracks: Formula, for other surfaces: General) but in true expinmin tradition, the beef is in tight Mini races with the AI. Depending on the hmap, the AI is of varying level.
Hope you enjoy and please leave a comment.

Re: [mic] [tpk] expinmin7
Nobody ? Sure ?
Ok let's go !
I always loved your expinmin, that's what inspired me to do my nanotracks. Having a new reiteration of this serie is always welcome.
I tested alone and with AI only with Mini so far, my preferred car for those small tracks.
I appreciate that you took nearly all tracks genres, plus with TE only, and it have must been especially hard to do on [stc] and [roa] tracks with those road lines.
Hmap is quite extreme on each one of them (apart from [stc]), but really fun. It makes some spectacular exits or leaves AI opponents dizzy, so each race is always a surprise.
I found it quite interesting that you make your recent tracks with TE only. I feel some nostalgia from you, at those first years of GeneRally, when all begun, that times when we didn't care about beautiful, spectacular, artistic landmap, but just making a track to have fun with friends. That's what I found here. I really live those old days again, thanks to your tracks. (was not here back then, but I had friends who played GeneRally with me at home on the same computer years ago)
That's the most weird and at the same time nice feeling I had in this release.
It makes me really something. It may seems that I exaggerate for some but for those who played GR years ago, you may understand.
Thanks a lot TuomoH.
... and nice new avatar.

Re: [mic] [tpk] expinmin7
Thank you so much for your continued support, Kikwik.
I also realized that I didn't go through the phase of releasing TE only tracks in the beginning but went straight to the graphic editor for my first released track. Counting all my releases, I think I've released 17 TE only tracks prior to TEOring but I think only one of them (Teostone from 2004) have stuck to the roots approach. That's why I wanted to make some classic TE tracks now.
*Still a HUGE amount of tracks to be tested
It did take quite many attempts, especially with my not-so-precise mouse, but it wasn't too hard in the end.Kikwik wrote:it have must been especially hard to do on [stc] and [roa] tracks with those road lines.
Yup, I've been feeling very nostalgic lately, going through some my early track folders* and playing tracks I haven't seen in 15+ years. I've run across with many tracks that look quite bad by today's standards but have still been designed in an excellent fashion, purely in TE. I've also run into masses of tracks that follow the standards of the early years but lack the soul even when they look better than the TE tracks...Kikwik wrote:I found it quite interesting that you make your recent tracks with TE only. Thanks. Actually, that's a piece of nostalgia too - I used that avatar as my first one in 2002/2003-2004.Kikwik wrote:... and nice new avatar.
