[cir] Kmin

Post by Arrow#17 »

G'dday all! Arrow#17 here presenting another track i've cooked up:
Kmin

ok, so a bit of an explanation here. for a while on the other forum, the trend for tracks was becoming all about the looks, and not the racing. this is a racing game, not an art gallery. while looks are important, i chose to concentrate on the layout, and raceability of this (and a few other) track. so i present to you, a very simple, small and slightly challenging track designed for short sprint races full of action and passing, with simple and neat looks.

the track is in the style of what i like to call "classic GR", so no fancy lmap, no awesome buildings and objects, just a track to race on

so i hope you enjoy it, and have some fun

as always, rate, comment and race!

If you can't race it, eat it, or screw it, its a waste of your time.

Nice and simple, like it!
especially the crazy pit-layout.

I great fun with exemption of one little detail imho, the eses in area of back straight are quite useless, because I don't need turn there. Regular straight would make a place for more comfortable pits. But the eses make the layout very nice on look so longer straight between turns 3 and 4 would help to make working eses as the second option. ;)

Anyway, 4,8/5

This is a great layout, but... somehow in a race it was just quite boring. Maybe it was the cars I was using, but it seemed like there was only one line through the entire course and no way to pass, even for the AIs.

3.5/5
I like short, simple signatures!

the best passing spots are at the 3rd and last 2 corners... great place to use a really tight line on exit of 3rd to gain position, or using the over and under trick for the last two. or even under brakes for turn 1. if you cant pass here, then your not trying hard enough.. try some unothodox lines and see what happens.

the esses were placed there to restrict the line into the final two turns, not to actually add anything to the layout. the restricted line forces the driver to make more outlandish moves to pass, and thereby increaces the excitement of the race, and driver skill.
If you can't race it, eat it, or screw it, its a waste of your time.

Had lots of fun on this track in 2-player mode, against 4 AI-cars!
Very close racing, hard to overtake (even if you make use of the few corners arrow#17 mentioned  ).
Great GeneRally-classic-style racing!
