Figure-8 racing

Post by dead14vii1640 »

I love watching AI figure-8 racing. I've modified some of the ovals that I've found here and there and transformed them into figure-8 ovals and the result is awesome.
AI doing t-bones all over the place and, sometimes, there're even multiple crashes with 3 or 4 cars involved.

The tracks I've modified are:
· Bristol by Milton du Pont
· Hutfield '61 by Gustavo Marques
· Louisville by Dan Belcher
· Martinsville by Milton du Pont

One of the best races was an 8km race at "Marty 8" with 75-points AI drivers with NASCAR COTs (Fechna, probably). The race was decided on the penultimate lap when the 6th driver crashed into the one who was leading and let the 2nd one pass.
There was also a great end at "Bristol 8" when a trio battling for 3rd crashed in the last crossing against the 6th car. It ended that the car that made the penultimate lap in 5th finished 3rd by only 0.04

I dunno if I understood this right, but do you have permission to edit these tracks?

Editing for private purposes is not problem, but it's forbidden to upload the edited tracks somewhere and share them publicly.

Yeah, 8-track races are fun to watch every now and then. The only problem I have right now is that my 8-tracks are way too large.
Another fun one was the "reverse" 8-track that I did. It had 4 small crossings, creating some nice action.

Jerrec also made Big8, it's good fun. With trucks and formulas together on the road especially :misch:

Figure-8 racing is normally about normal tracks where cars crash A LOT. Unreal 8-shaped tracks don't usually work very well with crashes 'cause cars, when sent to the water, lose A TON of time.
