Anyone working at the moment?
Re: Update Original GeneRally Cars 2011 - Signup/Release Thr
It's not bad if I make another "historic" car? Because I would like to make a Triangle probably like a Messerschmitt. And then I could also have ideas for a kart inspired by these 1960s Karts

I think that's a fairly sensible idea for a triangle. And old-school karts would be perfectly fine, just like older style rally cars and yankees or whatever - but pre-wing Formulas are certainly not allowed, pre-wing formula cars should be based on the General. xD
Re: Update Original GeneRally Cars 2011 - Triangle
Hi all ,
Being finished with all of my exams, life can start again However, I just felt like doing a Triangle. It's heavily inspired by the german Messerschmitt Kabinenroller (1950's microcar).
At first I struggled with getting right proportions (specially the height of the model and the too big tyres for this sort of car ), and I had to change the crash values a bit. I hope that it's no problem
Have fun and please comment!
Note: Now the full pack is available. You can find it here.

You can also give a try in that sense, Dan.
BTW good job XYY, even if I'd say 1,8 and 1,88 is so marginal (0,04 on each side), that you don't need to change values (it wouldn't make any terrible bugs) or change the car's shape.

That's amazing XYY. Although when driving it, it feels a bit long/thin.

Luke, I hope you realise the update to my General was meant to be an change to the existing model, not be a secondary model. Because I noticed you added it as a secondary entry under my name.

You should also delete the outdated files from older posts and replace them by link to post with last version, I think it's bit confusing now.ACM wrote:That's amazing XYY. Although when driving it, it feels a bit long/thin.

Right, OK, I agree with Trigger Happy on that, I'll change it.

Re: Update Original GeneRally Cars 2011 - Signup/Release Thr
IMHO it is a bit too short so your Mini looks like a Smart Fortwo.
Re: Update Original GeneRally Cars 2011 - Signup/Release Thr
I think that's what he intended Still, it may not be a regular Mini, but if it had to be something else, a Smart ForTwo does fit. (and so would a new Mini if someone wanted to try one... xD)
Re: Update Original GeneRally Cars 2011 - Signup/Release Thr
I used the word "mini" as an adjective, not as a brand of car.
It's the mix of Smart ForTwo and Daewoo Matiz.

Yeah, things don't need be taken literally. Good job!
Edit: but you should likely keep wheels on places, where they were, IIRC the rules.

Re: Update Original GeneRally Cars 2011 - Signup/Release Thr
Yes, that is a rule, please change the wheels to the correct place.
Re: Update Original GeneRally Cars 2011 - Signup/Release Thr
Are you sure? I don't see this rule.
There's written, that i musn't change the size of wheels, not placement.

Re: Update Original GeneRally Cars 2011 - Signup/Release Thr
But changing the tyre's positions changes the physics, you know...
I had to do that at my sidamob but I don't really think that it should be standard for every car

^ that, I'll edit the rules to make it more clear as well.
EDIT: To people complaining about the sidamob rule in the past, remember that it only says that they should have two versions, one with wheels and one without, not that they must. xD

Re: Update Original GeneRally Cars 2011 - Signup/Release Thr
I finally completed the 12th car. Here is the pack, it includes 4 new models (Onewheeler, Rallycar, Sidamob and Yankee) and all others, very often with minor tweaks including some colour scheme changes, hopefully it's enough good and amuse somebody.

Excelent work, Ivo. For sure, some of yours are my favourite ones so far.
Re: Update Original GeneRally Cars 2011 - Signup/Release Thr
I now feel we're in a position for me to say this:
This is close enough to the final setup that I will set an absolute final car submission deadline of 23:59 GMT 31st December 2011, as this is over a month away there is plenty of time for new entries to be produced and people now have a timescale to work with. Please keep working! And good job Trigger Happy.

Re: Update Original GeneRally Cars 2011 - Signup/Release Thr
Double post, but this is because I've acted on my own idea and done a new Mini for the Mini. Kinda odd seeing it this short, but
