Old Hatch Series Beta 0.1
Number of cars made so far:
Race Class 1: 12
Race Class 2: 16
Race Class 3: 29

All values subject to miscounting xD
So, beta 0.1 is here. And, by my counting, there's about 200 cars in the pack. Which is quite a few. Especially as you have tiny Minis going up against Corvettes. :D

Please enjoy this pack and give your feedback! As ever, the spreadsheet for this pack is included in the zip/rar - I included both just so everyone can use the pack if they wish to. :) It's still very much a beta - some models may have imperfections, and the physics are still subject to change - the lack of balance is shown by the fact the Mini is basically useless. :D

Please don't look at the website - it's massively out-of-date and also doesn't even work at present.

The Italdesign Medici 1 was a rather weird car to add. But you made it look great in this game, Luke :bg:

And all I can say is :wow:

Luke, this is singlehandedly the greatest piece of work for Generally that has ever been created. This carpack is simply.....phenominal. I can't describe it in words, if there was a heaven, it would be in this .zip

Yeah, it still may only be the beta, but what you have done here is jaw-dropping to say the least. I've been waiting for this anxiously and I am not at all disapointted. Epic piece of work right here, and it would be a crying shame if this didn't win Mod of the Year. Simply amazing. 100000/100

Anyone who plays Generally must download this carpack. Heck, it should be included in the basic install.

After playing for a bit, the only thing I would say would be to paint the cars in the race class 3; it's a pain in the butt to have to lookup and find each individual car's paint scheme.

Also too, some of the models are a bit repetitive. Why have the base AMC Gremlin when you can just have the Gremlin X? Same thing with the Sierra and Cavalier. It makes things complicated. I say keep just the special edition trims and get rid of all the base models. I love the variety, however.

That's all I can find wrong with the pack right now, I'll let you know if I see anything else. The new physics are amazing btw.

There are supposed to be multiple different cars and if they're in different years and are "sporty" or "sporty-ish" models then they will get included. Especially true with the Sierras - but notice that many of them look totally different. When there are more cars you will see that there will be gaps between all the "base" cars and the tweaked versions within a pack.

As for Race Class 3, I will indeed be painting those for the next pack - again, remember this is a beta: features are often missing in them, and this is one. xD

Although this is a bump, I will answer this. It is currently paused - NOT cancelled. I will resume work after my exams on this project, this is the latest version at the moment.

Now, first things first, this is a deliberately cut-down version exhibiting the two models I've made since the last release, v0.1, and the majority of the basic models from Road Class 4, which has been completely rebuilt into the real height mode. And, yes, I'm well aware this makes the Audi S2 and Lotus Esprit totally unbalanced against the other cars in the pack: that's not the point. This is to demonstrate the modelling improvements I have made, not as a physics exercise, as physics are unchanged.

Changes include:

All cars now use realistic height values, so they will likely be taller, except the sports cars, like the 924, Esprit and Camaro, will be shorter
A couple of stylistic tweaks (some of the Sierras in the Class 4 have been changed to be more similar, like in reality, although in-game they will still look basically as before, just taller, obviously you cannot tell this with this pack)
Mondeo 1.8 has been replaced by Mondeo 2.0, and a 4x4 version is also included in Class 4 (not exhibited here)
New models (Lotus Esprit X180 and Audi S2)
A couple of cars (Sierras) I found in Class 4 were using the outdated window colour, they now use 184, not 138.
The Renault Laguna is no longer being driven by Richard Hammond, but by a regular-sized human being (head has been moved into a sensible place)

I like the Audi S2, the Lotus Esprit, the Chevy Camaro, the Escort V and the BMW 3-Series ti.

I want more cars like those :bowdown: !

Well, stay tuned, "new" models of mine may not be made for a while, but I will be updating all the other cars I've already made to this height style; look for the older versions of OHS for these. And thanks for the comment :)

A great car pack! In particular Delta is a very wonderful model, IMO. And they have very nice physics. I like those car's performances. But if I must find something opinion to say about cars, I'd mention cars' Mass.. These cars are the light-weight, so they have a stable drive, but the slide drive is difficult, and the tire trace is hard to be left too.

But that would be the preference of each player. (I often made light-weight cars, too.) So, it's not such a big problem..

Anyway, Good job!!

I have already updated Road Class 3, and Road Class 2 is in progress, and I have since discovered that the Audi S2's driver's head is rather too low, so that will be fixed in future releases (should be 0.85, not 0.75). At least it doesn't look like the Laguna did before, which was so low it looked like Richard Hammond was driving...

Well, it's nearly Christmas, and as such, here is my Christmas present - an updated version of OHS! With 294 cars so far, it might not be a massive increase but I've tried to concentrate on the faster cars, hence the large increase in Road Class 1's size. As always, some cars are not perfect models yet, and a few of them are trial models - particularly the Delta Integrale, so if you don't like them, please say so, and I will look at fixing them. As always, you can race tiny Minis against large Ford Granada Mk IIIs and Saab 9000s, and now Race Class 1 has a massively powerful Lingenfelter Corvette ZR1 - very fast but very hard to control due to its tendency to powerslide wildly!

Please enjoy, leave a comment and state what your favourite car in this pack was! :) For next year I might paint the Race Class 3 cars, which I haven't done yet - also, if you have images of better liveries for the race cars than some of them currently have, please show me them and I can incorporate the change!

One issue/theme/project/compo = one thread. Rule valid for all, especially no need of 3 separate topics for 3 pre-final versions of same project, which is still under development (maybe even contra-productive). ;)
