[cpk] [gtc] [lmp] Maserati Birdcage

Post by XYY »

Hi everyone,
To prove Ivo wrong that I don't post any of my awesome cars in this millenium, I hope this is the response to this thesis  I took two of my ready models and put the physics on them, so here they are! This pack includes the Maserati Tipo 61, a race car of the early 1960's, and the 21st century interpretation of this car, the Maserati Birdcage 75th, a car presented by Pininfarina to celebrate their 75th anniversary and to honour the Maserati T61 which was also nicknamed "Birdcage" (because of its special chassis). Although it had "only" 250 hp it was very competitive because the weight of the car was only 600kg. The modern version is almost a ton heavier, but has also got a 700 hp engine. ;)
I hope you have some fun with these cars. Please comment :yummy:

I didn't tell, that you won't release anything, I told that I lost hope in it. ;)

Good job, although I'd rather call the modern version as ''21st century misinterpretation'' of the lightweight original.

Partially agree with you here, its just a completely different car so the two can't be really compared :geek:
Anyone took them on the track yet? I'd like to know what you think about the physics ;)

Beautiful physics mate. Nice balance between power and handling, quite powerful but driveable. And looks super cool on the track obviously. Will be the car of choice at our next GeneRally night.

Edit: talking about the Tipo 61 here, haven't driven the modern Birdcage.

The Tipo 61 drives like a dream. It looks like a dream too. :goodvibes:

The Birdcage is a brute with no elegance.

Very nice! Fast and quite a handful to drive - Tipo 61 feels quite understeery, but that's probably my rubbish driving skills...
