[tou] Opel Vectra GTS

Post by XYY »

Hi all :wave:
I decided to create a car, after I did many tracks (or went on with many projects) in the last time :coffee:
So here it is: The 2004's Opel Vectra GTS!
I created this car as a base for my DTM-ToCa 3 Opel Vectra V8 GTS, but I decided to build this one now.
and now please write many comments :)

IMO, the headlights are perfect but the silhouette is awful: too block and disproportional. I haven't seen the back but I don't have many hopes about it...

well, I always use a blueprint to find the right proportions.
You're right about the back: It's not very good, but I had no polies...

A large problem with that car is the very bad wheel placements, particularly at the back. Also, you've done a hatch boot, and I believe the GTS was only available in saloon. You could also make the car have a more curvy front, and free up some polys by deleting the side windows, which are unnecessary really and also seem to glitch quite badly in the car editor, let alone in game (not checked). As you have 2 free vertexes, you could then curve the rear a bit, or at least make it look less flat. Other than that, it's a pretty good start to a car making career! Physics don't look to my taste, I think it has far too little grip on tarmac (should be at least 1.7 IMO), but that's my problem not yours. ;)

Apparently not - Link.
But maybe Vauxhall made it in sedan/sallon?

I know that die996 has strange ideas and opinions :really: but IMO backside of car si not that important because it isn´t what makes so called "face" of the car, frontside is more important

well, it would sometimes be good if you had more polies/vertexes also for the back, but IMO it is not really good if you just use 2 vertexes more at the back if you can't recreate the lamps then..

@Paw - It's still too far forward on his car, and the GTS was only in saloon and Estate I believe - and that's a hatchback. ;)

OK, I got it wrong. However I still think the boot should be bigger, and the rear wheels moved back a bit. :)

I've never seen Vectra C GTS in anything else than 5 door hatch/liftback.

About using blueprints. I use them too, but you shouldn't follow them strictly. You should think about the look in game, sometimes they look better when you make different shape of body.

@sam1225
Please don't bump topics older than 2 months because it can confuse other forum members. ;)

@K5054
Admins changed that rule. There was a discussionand and they changed it to 2 months. Also you should have given an explanasion why bumping topics is not allowed.

BTW: sorry for backseating a mod :worried:
