Mr.J ask me for a tool to search for authors in all trackfiles.
Here is a little help:
TrackSort.zip

This tool can sort all your tracks by trackname, author, worldsize or km.

Just unpack the zip and start TrackSort.exe
Load your trackdirectory and all tracks will be found (include subdirs).
Start a Scan, and all info will be read from tracks (takes a little time).
By clicking on the Sort-Buttons, the list will be sorted by name, author, WS or km.
You can save a sorted list as a textfile and you can get a preview of a selected
track with the Show-Button.

At the moment, data will not be read out of trackfiles < Version 1.05
If you have other problems or ideas, make a post.

 Thank you.
I have tried it and it works just great. :bg:
Very cool tool. Maby this will help Longbow in some way so the restoring can be made faster too.

It will surelly do :bg:

BYW, can you add a feature which would allow to select tracks from a specific author and move them to an (new) another folder?

Very important is option to sort tracks by name of driver making TR record or best lap - some authors didn't filled ''Author'' row in track, but set a record, so LongBow can identify them. E.g. I have track without author but with player called Niels as the one, who did BL. So tahat track is according its style and this name 99,9% made by nielske. :)

That is so true  . Any, even so insignificant info can help me in the track restoring task.

Ok, a copy or move button will be the next feature
and yes, I can read the records/name out of the tracks ....

Sorry for the bump, but are you by any chance working on the tool? It would be really nice to have the aforementioned features installed. Also, I would love if you could add support for <1.05 versions of tracks. :ugeek:
BTW Juan made a tool that converts tracks from 1.05 to 1.03, but not the other way around.. Is there a tool that does that?

GR Track Transformer will "update" tracks of older versions to version 1.05. if it isn't 1.05, will be converted automatically, even if you didnT choose other options :)

You don't need to surely? I've played Plante from the original beta with no problems, so...

But if you want to edit older tracks and add "newer" objects... ;)

Well, if you would want to add new objects, you would need to open the track in TE. And upon saving it would save as 1.05, not?

Yeah, I'm fairly sure it does. ;)

That's great, but I would like Track Sort to be able to recognize old tracks because I don't want to spend a weekend opening and saving each old track in my archive just so I can then view them with this tool. :shake:

About how many tracks <1.05 are we talking about?

I must spend more than one weekend for opening these tracks correct.

I had added a 'copy' function to the tool. I will post it soon.
A 'move' function is too risky at the moment. I don't want to destroy your track collection. ;)

The tracksorting is a dry thing, but you are right, I must finish it.

Meanwhile I was working at a little gameanalyser (Want a look? Gameanalyse_beta.zip - but beware, still beta)

Is there any way for a feature that would allow to load multiple saves and calculate the total time used to run all races/stages?
This would come in handy if you are running a rally comp (to calculate multiple stages) or 24 Le Mans for example where participants run 3 stints.
I know I would love such a feature

Copy-Funktion for Tracksort is ready. I will post it after some optical rework.

@LongBow: my gameanalyse tool is basically for the racer, not the checker. With the tool
the racer can see, how many bad laps are in his race and if there is potential for a better time.

On the other hand it is possible to add times of several savegames, maybe a new tool.
I will think about ...

Updated my Tracksort tool.
Now you can copy selected tracks to new folder.
1.10 tracks get a mark 1.10 in list when found new objects.

Moving tracks to new folder is possible, but I avoid this
function because I don't want to delete tracks in your directories.
This could be dangerous, if there are double tracks in different
subfolders.

Hi Major Tom,

Is it possible to get a scrolling-function for the lap times? It's impossible to know what laps I've done beyond lap 40.

I never suggest races over 40laps, but since some guys plan 24h races,
I have to change my opinion. Show more laps than 40 will be no problem.

New version works with 1.10, but some more changes will be done.
Then I can take away 'beta' and open own thread ...

Any updates on Game Analyzer?

Is there any hope for the better version of GR Game Analyser? The current version shows the lap time accurate to 0.05s (e.g. 26.60 instead of 26.61 or 26.62 and 26.65 instead of 26.64 or 26.63
For another example, here is screen from my Endurance attempt.

I believe that's because of the framerate you use in gr.ini, not because of Game Analyser. In other words, the settings in gr.ini cause your save to be accurate only on 5/100 second level.

Well, I changed this line in gr.ini...

Code: Select all

FrameStep = 5
...for this...

Code: Select all

FrameStep = 1
...but GR Game Analyser shows this:

@ Gzehoo: if you have a request about particular tool, write it in its topic, not elsewhere. Thanks.
