The GeneRally Trackfile 1.05

Post by majortom »

Finally, I have succeeded in collecting my realizations about the GeneRally Trackfile
and write it down. Here is the result:

trackfile.zip

Without some small things, it explains the complete file. It is a little
technical and you should have experience in Hex and Binary numbers.
But it could help everybody, who want develop new tools for GR (or GR 2.0).

In the pack you find the docu for the GR Trackfile as pdf, my track Ascheloh as
an example for the explanations in the docu (use a simple Hexviewer/Editor to see
the values of the trackfile as explained) and my tool Trackanalyse.

I use my realizations in the tool, so they can't be quite wrong :)

If I can say something, I´d love to see trackeditor with closer zoom (not just 2x and 4x as now) :bg: but anyway hope to see some new useful utilities :D

Cool! Good job!

Do you know if there is such a file info for the savegames? I could do wonderful tools if I knew it!

By the way, my name is Albert, from Barcelona. New in this forum but in generally since 2002!

I'm still working on the savegame.
I have decoded the basic structure, but some details are still missing.
In nearly future I will write the savegame docu ... :coffee:
