Is anyone able to get the Car Editor to work on Windows 7? Program itself launches as it should, but I cannot access the 'Model' screen.

Press on the model's button(?) in Win's main panel by right mouse button and choose maximalize. Worked in Vistas, should in 7s too. ;)

Sorry for disturbing. It looks like Juan's page has been dead and the files are no longer able to be downloaded. Could anyone provide another link?
I lost them along with all my data. :hot:

Maybe the correct description for my current situation is "I can't download the files."

go to paint, save it as JPG, PNG or GIF, and go to attachments under your post editor, and select the area where your photo is, and then upload.

and please, don't ask it here

This was questioned BTW many times, so you could have even search either on this forum or on Google.

I hope the unfinished CE works better with modern Windows and doesn't demolish the CPU... The SaveGameReader update is definitely vital though!

This was the list of changes I made 8 years ago for the never released CarEditor:
[*]Cleaned up some code (nothing new you can see).
[*]Fixed the file size issue.
[*]The double window system is officially dead.:)
[*]New core, so it's no more a resource killer.
[*]New view mode (almost the same as in game) with real colors and shadows, inverted car, invisible polys.
[*]Added the export function, to open the car on an external app.
[*]New feature to sort cars alphabetically and/or move them manually (can't remember who ask for it ;))
[*]Now you can create a car from scratch.
[*]Option to see only one of the 4 view modes (or all, like now).
[*]New option to calculate the size of the car (X,Y,Z) according to the carmasters.
[*]Option to 'see' the size of the car (collisions).
[*]Option to alter the brightness of the normals (-100 to 100) and preview.
[*]Fixed the size of the wheels.
[*]Head and wheels more rounded.
[*]Added the missing colors (240 to 255).
[*]Fixed some minor bugs and other things I can't remember.
[*]Improved resize and rotate/mirror.
[*]Option to move (up/down, front/back, left/right) whatever you want (car, shadow, head, wheels).
[*]Option to see the arrows to know where is the center and where are the positive values.
[*]Perspective changed to make it more GR like and to avoid deformation of big 'cars'.
[*]No more validation of car values (grip, slowdown, speed, ...). Now you can enter any value.

That sounds awesome. Great job! :bg:
Many things that bugged many people are now repaired. And you've added many things that you wouldn't think about before, but as you read about them, you see that it's very nice.
Hope to see tool soon!

Is one of the fixed glitches the bug where vertex 29 sometimes disappears from the menu? I hope so, because that one is just weird. It seems interesting, although I'm not sure what it'll be like using a single window (I'm sure you'll have thought it out properly, so I'm not worried). Fantastic news that we finally could use a much better CE! When do you think you'll release it?

Yay, one window! I should hopefully be able to make it work on my computer. How soon will it be released?

Tool is fully working since 2004. I believe I never released it to change or add something, but can't remember. No plans to work on it...

Never heard about it.

Even I don't know what I was talking about. All windows are still there.
Lukeno94 wrote:Fantastic news that we finally could use a much better CE! When do you think you'll release it?
Maybe never. If it ever is released it'll be as is (beta I suppose).
