Since Juan didn't appear in the community since 2005, I doubt it.

For the car makers that are still using the ugly old car editor, I'll release as soon as I can the unfinished updated version.

I need some help please.

I have a new computer with Windows 8. I downloaded the CE, as well as the required files that I installed in my System directory.
But still, when I try to run the CE, I get an error message saying that "COMDLG32.OCX or one of its dependencies is missing".
I wanted to create a new car. :(

There's a dlls.zip file in the very bottom part of Juan's site. Download it and place it in the same folder as where your CE is located...

Also, run it in XP compatibility mode as an administrator.

Even if the compatibility issues can be worked around by users, I would still like to see if the "new" car editor will see a release.

Sorry. Been busy. Tomorrow I'll take a look at the old code of the new (unfinished) car editor to release it (as is) before weekend.

This is a massive step up from the old one! Pretty much the only thing I don't like is the fact I can't move from one poly to the next with the keyboard anymore, but ah well.

EDIT: It appears the screenshot function is broken, ah well. :)

Looks cool! Downloaded this morning, and I'll give it a try. In fact, I already clinched two new cars to be made before grand final of an arcade game tournament tomorrow...

The only bugs I've noticed so far is that the screenshot button doesn't work properly when you've got the "View All" mode enabled (it doesn't capture the 3D model), and that the colour selector button is very glitchy (only works some of the time.) Otherwise, it looks much better, it's more powerful, and yet doesn't devour my CPU any more. Good job!

After several days of pause, I've been thrilled with the fact that there's a new version of GR car editor! That was really unexpected for me. And after first impressions I am really happy with changes. The only complaint I have with the program itself is that I miss the drop-down carlist, which was quite handy for enormous carpacks. Out of that it seems to be a great addition, I will definitely switch to 1.00, so good job, Juan! :bg:

I noticed today that you CAN take screens as long as the car's namd doesn't contain invalid characters (like slash and backslash for example). I noticed it when I'm trying to take a screen of Masa's Wangan Midnight car and my own GT car. Unless there is/are no invalid char(s) on the car's name, you're good. :)

The new car editor is good - it shows some the color glitches of the cars.
