Hello everyone,
GRHMEdit update compatible with GeneRally v1.2 is finally here.

You will also find a few new things, most notably object editing capability, which I think is important enough to justify version 2.00. Note, the object files (.obt) have been updated to make the editing possible.

To remove some clutter I removed some toolbar buttons which I think are not used very often. The functions they used to do are still available via main menu. If you desperately need any of these back, feel free to complain in this thread.

Please read the manual for complete list of what's been added or changed.

Enjoy.

Unfortunately it seems to be crashing to me ATM, when I try some of options about the objects. More in PM, Mlynki. ;)

Not pleasant to read, but this issue has now been resolved (silly programming error :ashamed: ).
Fixed version is available for download.

The ability to modify object placement on the fly is terrific. This combined with the 3d view, so you instantly get feedback on your results as you work, makes this a near perfect replacement to the default track editor.

I think what would make it even better though is if, as well as being able to rotate objects by hand, you could type in the exact value in degrees for object rotation too. Like say you want an object to face exactly 45, or 78.75 degrees. It would help perfectionists like me. :)

Hi all,
just to let you know, there's a new update for GRHMEdit. I attempted to simplify the gradient tool somewhat, so hopefully that will make it more useable ( :? => :) ). There are a few small improvements too, not to forget several fixes.
Have fun (and report any problems).
Signing off. :hattip:

I'm not entirely sure I understand your problem, but you should use the newest version of GRHMEdit with the newest version of GeneRally.

I think you should just be able to unzip it and then run it, no installation required, if I remember correctly :)

Hi everyone,

just wanted to let you know there is a minor update to GRHMEdit (v2.02). It can now mirror a track and reverse the driving direction. This update is intending to add functionality available in the Track Transformer tool (which I believe does not handle newest TRK formats (??)) as per Trigger Happy's request.

Please note that after reversing the driving direction some manual adjustments may be necessary to the track. For example, the finish line will likely be in the wrong place and you may need to move checkpoint(s) around to fix that. Also, if your AI line is any good then it is probably tuned to the driving direction. Thus, after reversing the track it probably won't be very good any more and you may end up re-doing it from scratch anyway. I guess a more intelligent algorithm could be created to handle these issues automatically, but that would take way more time than I have for this project. Also, track making would hardly be fun if the computer did all the work for you!

Later,
mlynki

Uh-oh... I guess I have a problem.
I downloaded the program from mlynki's website, unzipped and all... But I can't find the .exe file to run the program. I find Neither the manual nor any .txt with infos.
Please, help!

You downloaded file with source code (icon of stack of papers), not with the tool (icon of 2 gearwheels). :shhh:

Hum... I've had some problems on the website because of the lack of texts, just images...
I'll try again!
