Sunoco's Driver Editor

Post by Sunoco »

With this tool you can easily edit driver files, specifically the drivers statistics. I thought this app would be useful for creating real-life drivers with real-life statistics. You can also convert drivers from ai to human and back again, just like in my previous program. I hope you like this app, it was a lot of work. So you can see what I did to make it, and maybe use the ideas yourself for your own tools, you are welcome to download the source code. It is uncommented, and messy, but who knows? Maybe it will be useful.

How great is VB.NET! :) Maybe just a little bit to improve: Would be fun to change driver's colors with this :bg: And if I really guessed right and you're using VB.NET, I suggest you make some kind of tabs layout so the navigation through the tabs makes it easy to tweak values and things... :)

Good job :D

Good suggestions. Oh, and you were almost right. It was written in C#.

For which reason on earth. in the universe would you come to think that the driver files could get corrupted with this tool??? If it's well coded and it writes back into the files every bits at every good place, it shouldn't get corrupted! :really:

Files shouldn't be corrupted by the program. If it happens, please let me know and I'll fix it.

The only problem I think might arise is when you have numbers higher than 255. You can't store a number larger than that in a single byre, so things may get weird there. Not sure. That's the reason the track editor, even with the patch limits you to a world size of 255.

True, if you'll abuse others without any reason by this way, you'll get banned. So as you wish, now for 7 days. If repeated, it may happen permanently.

Because of an issue relating to values larger than 255 and corrupting files, I'll be making modifications to the program. Because I'm very busy with school I can't say when I'll get the new version up.

Also, if you have any issues with corrupted files please send me a copy so I can try and work it out. Thank you.

Yeah, I haven't updated it yet, but because Generally 1.10 has been released, I'll be updating this. Expect a new, working version to be out soon. I'll fix the issues with the 255 limit.

Sorry for the triple post. I wasn't into Generally for a while, as school (CS Majoy) got in the way. I'll be trying to make a fixed version of this program soon.
