This round, man...

Damage lapping a car 3 laps before my 1st pit-stop. Stick with the strategy but had awful tyres at the end due to the longer final stint. Also had the worst luck ever with every freaking AI. So much for repeating that 161.5 I did in practice. Meh.

As it seems, others have problems as well.
But I think, my login was the worse attempt, I have ever had here in Malaysia.
But a big surprise indeed, that Maclape struggles that much. :misch:

I'm very disappointed for my result, but I think I've made a good race. After a P6 in qualy (only .19 slower than the pole), only a p14.

But, Majortom, I've some doubts. Since in qualy i've lost only 0.19 in a lap, even if I calculate 1 second in a lap in the race, the result is 20 seconds from the first place...

I've made a clean race, without any error.

My question is:

Is there a chance to check if drivers modify cars?

I repeat, It's impossible that in race cars of first 5-6 drivers are only little bit slower than qualifying session.

With 100 kg of fuel mass, the car must be slower.

Try to check and reply me, I repeat it's very strange...

Thank you

Actually, I've found the results kind of strange, too. My race wasn't that good, but still I'm more than 20 sec faster than Shuher, Boblopette and XYY whom I consider as more or less equal to me.

Haven't seen the replays yet, though. :D

Well done, Buka! :bg:

Good strategy, with 2 stops I was barely on 152. :D BTW my Q times are usually almost a "surprise login" (taking a part to avoid starts from pit lane), I seriously practice only before race. :)

Thanks. I wonder why someone would even try two pits. These tires have such low impact on my personal driving style, that I never considered changing them twice. Speed of the car - that's the real challenge, because I've slow reaction.

For me, personally, this was right between 1 and 2 stops. I don't exactly hate how the tyres degrade at the end of a long stint but I seem to be quite useless with them.
Lots of you seem to cope with them quite well. Our coming update will respect that (a bit).

Yes, we do so. There is no evidence at all. I double-checked Australia myself, which is quite pointless because majortom does that as well every time.

Wow, but I'm the best proof for login-compos: I didn't tried to make a fast race, I tried to make a "safe" race, means no crash and other things and boom P15 ---> P8 :sweatdrop:

Congrats to Alonso and all the other drivers :bg:

BTW...here I see that Croatia Racing has a german flag...but shouldn't it be a croatian one? :taped:

Also in Melbourne the pit lane is on inner side, so it costs there less time, also it's a shorter track (30 laps vs 20), which usually results in a bit more AIs overtaking and with 2 stops driver has fresher tyres, so the overtaking can be safer and smoother (=> faster), so I can imagine advantages of each strategy can variate from round to round, especially if somebody is good on freshest tyres (not my case).

True, I always hope it pans out that way when I am done with testing before the season. But, especially this year, my own testing performance does not seem to be representative of what is possible. So I wouldn't be surprised if the 1-stopper is a little too "powerful" this time around.

Is there a sandstorm or did Maldonadosomeone crashed or why the Qualifying (login) is stopped?

GR Driver about his race in Malaysia...

The PGR F1 2015 Malaysia GP is over and the winner is Ferrari driver and World Champion Alonso.
As we know, his teammate GR Driver had his problems in qualifying.
He couldn´t set a single lap time and had to start from the begin of the pit lane.
Now we hear from GR Driver himself, what problems occured at the Malaysian race-weekend of PGR F1 and why he once again didn´t got near to Alonso´s pace, even through GR Driver had some very good results last season.
This season eveybody was expecting him to drive for wins after gaining his first PGR F1 podium in India in the 2012 season.

I: GR Driver, you were quite on a role last year, but in the new season you seem to struggle with the new Ferrari. Is the team-change an importnant point in this situation? Do you first need some races to get into rhythm with the new team?

GR Driver: I don´t think, I´ve ever lost the rhythm. But Australia was one of my worst races, I made many mistakes in race and lost time and importnant points there. I also didn´t manage to put on a single clean lap, that was good for the Top 5 in the starting-grid. In Australia I wasn´t fast enough overall. Now in Malaysia the bad luck continued for us and we weren´t able to set a lap in qualifying practice. All caused by a engine problem. A piston didn´t work properly and that was it for my qualifying. Till that moment we focused on the race day. But after I was forced to start from the pits, because I hadn´t set a lap time for starting-grid, I was stuck in traffic the whole race. To finish eleventh and not higher is even more bitter. I fought my way trough the field and in the end I gained nothing.

I: Do you see your chances on a World Championship fight with reigning and defending Alonso and Maclape increase after the first two races?

GR Driver: It´s the begin of the season, two races don´t mean that much. I want to make a big improvement in Bahrain. But as long as I´ve an oppurtunity to fight for the World Driver´s Championship, I´ll fight.

I: Thank you for the time!

GR Driver: Thank you, goodbye.

Fixed

Login will work now !

@ mariospiniello
I can assure that all cars and settings are proved right.

The key for winning is to be fast in login, be fast with worse tires
and taking the right pitstop strategy.
