Hobbies (no sports)

Post by TuomoH »

Reading, writing, music (playing, composing, listening), movies. For my health, I walk regularly but I don't know if I'd call it a hobby. ;)

Edit by Trigger Happy: to discuss active sporting go here, please.

@Alonsomania: Well that sure is a different sport. I don't remember seeing that before.

My biggest hobby is music. Producing it, listening to it, collecting it.
The next big thing is anime. This means mostly that I watch the series', but this year I'm planning to go to some of the Finnish Cons and cosplay some characters there. Tampere Kuplii, Tracon and Desucon are atleast on the list. Propably Ropecon too, if I just have the time and the money. There's going to be Assembly 2010 nearly at the same time and that is a MUST VISIT. If not for anything else, atleast to join into some of the music compos.

The more sporty side is mostly cycling around the nearby forest. I'm hoping to play some tennis this summer. That's the sports I played a lot when I was younger. I stopped because the coach was a jerk. A good reason to stop, yeah... :D

It looks like great fun and GR must be perfect practice for races surely. :D

BTW why all RC circuits are so wide, please? I never understood it. I would build them in width of 4-5 cars max. I can imagine there is big traffic (lot of cars on track), but anyway it looks too much.

When cars goes at straight +70km/h (in hall, at asphalt maybe 90-100km/h), it can't be too narrow :D. 10 cars is much better than 4-5. There is more positions to race, so you have to drive fast all the time. And when Top 10 drives laptimes inside 0,1-0,3sec, it looks and it's fun to race against others. In club races where isn't all top drivers, then it's going to be big traffic sometimes...

Well, GR have good view angle for tracks and that's the reason I like gr somehow

btw, in 1/8 nitro-offroad race there is always 12 cars in finals. But in every class in every qualify there is always about 8 cars.

@Vilkku: Do you happen to have any dates for the races in Finland this year? It would be fun to see the races live but... The events aren't too advertised publicly.

Go on, what are your other hobbies, other than sit at a compy all day and congratulating everyone on their latest triangular based design?

Everyone knows my passion. But here is one of my latest off the production line.

I slap on pictures of anime girls on the sides of the cars I race in GTR2...
It's very sad, isn't it...?

Hey, don't tell anyone that, okay?

Spending my time on my computer, watching TV, sometimes playing Rubicscube (sp?), playing internet in either internet cafe or my cellphone, listening to music. That's all :)

Ironically, I've started watching more of the popular Japanese cartoons myself. Couple I'm in the middle of right now is DeathNote and the slightly lighter but definitely slightly weird Lucky Star.

Silly otaku, I dunno. :P

OK, here we go with the last part of the Mustang story.

Now, fitted the body to the chassis by burning the pin holes through the resin. Then it was time to set the new wheels up and then adjust the wheelie bars to suit. The wheelie bars needed quite a massive adjustment as you can see, they used to be straight.

Last thing that's really needed is a polycarbonate interior and some windows. That will come at a later date.
