Eye-candy and mythical works...

Post by Raska »

I just thought we should bring that back... Mainly for motivating the eventuals new members and to maintain the passion around our beloved game. :gr:

So, post here the eye-candy and mythical works of the community. Everything that made you love GR. Only rules it has to be a picture and give the credit to the authors. :bg:

I'll start with the mythical Rushmore track from Pongo.

PS: With all the fantastics works we have (on the ToM site, on our HD) and as long as we are together :ghug: , the :gr: community will live for long !

EDIT : Original idea of the thread by Canadiens1160..

Nice, I had the Idea too, re-starting this thread.
But you could at least have shown a little respect to Canadiens 1160, who started the eye-candy-thread at RSC.
(I know, this isn't RSC, and he wasn't very active the last couple of years....but still).

(Next topic will be....guess-a-track, I suppose). :)

btw, where can I get this track from pongo?

Of course... if I remembered who started it.
I just thought it was something to have back and to change it a little bit. BTW wasn't it multiple versions of this thread at RSC ? I'm not sure.. and well, do we really have to give credits to anything ? I don't think so IMO (abreviation made for the first time in 1958 by John Smith...) just kidding. :D
The lost Ninja wrote:btw, where can I get this track from pongo?
From someone who have it...

Anyway, I've added the credits to the first post and the mythical part for changing a little bit. And for bringing back some stories in the same time. The idea is to motivate the new members/visitors to join us and to share some good memories.

For exemple, the photofinish picture of the last ToM race of the season 4. It was the last race of the year 2007 and two champions (Alx.it and Murano) were fighting for the GWR title. Anything could happen, particularly as the race was on HouseJump (made by TuomoH) with the formula ! They finished 8th and 9th with only 0.14s of difference  and gave us this mythical picture. For finishing the story, with this result Alx.it won his first annual GWR title.

EDIT : The formula is from the Update the Original GeneRally Carpack.

Totally ! :bg: But as Buka says later... it's Roswell from Pongo.

Perhaps one day (let's hope not too away) we could directly bring back those mythical tracks around here.. For now, here you are a picture. :yummy: The proof that :gr: comes from Saturn ! :rainbow:

EDIT : I had forgot to correct Alonsomania about the author..

Please post your wallpaper in a zip, because one can't post pictures higher than 800*600 resolution. I give you a whole day to fix it, or else I have to delete it... ;)

I suggest you to .zip the wallpaper sized picture and exchange this current .png with proper-sized one, so we will still have an highlight of the big pic.

What do you mean with "Wallpaper size"? My desktop, and I guess most of people's here, is way bigger than that! I personally run at 1600*1200 @ 75Hz so putting this at wallpaper would obviously result in such a dump result...

I don't think so. Personnaly, I rarely use a resolution bigger than 1024*768 and that's definitively a standard wallpaper size.

@ resir014 : The wallpaper is nice... just the two pic in the upper left and in the bottom left aren't as well as the others IMO. BTW what is that track we see twice with the railroad ?

Wow! :eyes: You should not use your computer very often and with complicated proggies 'cause for most of them you need a way bigger resolution to be comfortable... Anyways...
