Typical AI strengths when racing?

Post by Haruna »

Just curious. I usually run a mixed set ranging from <60 all the way up to 110 strength (this is probably the most "reasonable" difficulty).

I always run 100 for all 5 AIs. Together with setting, that grid order is reversed season standings, it makes challenging and tight seasons. :)

The way to go

What settings and lenght do you use? I'm having problems with getting a race where the strategy is important

Tyre wear: 12%, fuel consumption: 10%, fuel mass: 50 kg, damage: 15% and length: 7 km.

I almost exclusively race with&against default formula, this settings work well on middle sized tracks (some AIs run 1 stop, some 0 stop sometimes time, so tyre management depending on track type is key).

Thanks :bg:.

Well there is apparently one driver that's good enough to drive against 200 AI's :P

@Haruna: The 110 AI must be impossible to beat at circuits with a decent AI-Line

I've beaten 110 AI's more than once before, it is all down to how well the car/track combo suits you vs. AI driver. Also, it helps to run 1% or 2% tyre wear, as wear indicator is a catch-all indicator for all four wheels rather than the best/worst condition one.

I race with AI from 95-110 with each one stepping down a bit so the field can spread out a little bit.

My biggest issue with AI is that it's so inconsistent based on the tracks and cars. Some cars they tend to work a bit slower and on some tracks the same thing happens. Hence why I race from 95-110, I'll usually have a challenge on every track.

Honestly, I just play Generally when there are competitions.
So, for me, the AI's settings are determined by each Championship.
But, if it was just practice, i would keep AI's level 100. ;)

Because higher than 100 makes AI accelrate faster and have more grip, I usually play with 100, but I often try alittle harder like 100-110.

I played with 0 once, but gave up as they were simply terrible - as in, crashing everywhere all the time.

It also depends on AI Line. For example, I usually play with AI 120-130, but when racing on tracks like Prodezee, I have to change their 'skills' to ~100, because AI Line is set very precisely so you can't beat AI's by just choosing better racing line.

Actually, the AI simply drive better up until past 100 AI strength. The AI will cheat more and more the more ya put it past 100, which is why an AI's lap record is only counted if his or her strength is at 100 or lower.

I calculated that I have the strength of about a lvl 90 so I'm using 80 for them... Otherwise, the AIs are too speedy and no fun to drive with...

But, If you put AI to 200, they get a rocket start and accelrate faster than you can (by the rocket start I mean they accelrate VERY fast.)

Yeah... Even with the same car you have, they're damn fast  Like in NFS... The cars ain't better, it's just the game that decides to make them go faster

90-110, depends on the car really.

I usually drive 25 lap races, or 50 laps.

Sometimes I choose all tracks and do a 1 lap race on all :-)

Damage -15-20%
Fuel - 7-15%
Tyre wear - 7-15%
Fuel load - 50-100 kg

These are all my settings.
