[roa] Forstiego

Post by AleksiNir »

Hey guys!

This is the first track I post as a trackmaster :drunken: And also the first road track in a long time by me. I haven't done a track with as big world size as this has (190) for some time either.
I started making this quite long time ago, in June. This weekend I finally got into the trackmaking mood, and finished it. I got inspirated by Ivo's Mirabelle, but in the end they don't look the same at all.
The track is on mostly on public roads, but it has short purpose-built part too. It has 2 layouts: slower version of the roundabout, and a faster one. I tried to make a quite fast track with lots of corners. Specially in the faster version you don't have to lift throttle that much :misch: I also continued my experimenting with empty/open areas :cool2: AI isn't as fast as in some of my tracks, but it should be fine.

track length: 520/504
world size: 190
suggested car: original formula

Enjoy! Comment! :D

Wonderful piece, Aleksi, the layout works perfectly - each curve. And I'm very glad from seeing a great road course - probably less used theme of regular tracks. :goodvibes: (In my archive the ratio of cir:ral:stc:roa is about 8:4:2:1).

I found only one con, which almost doesn't worth to be mentioned - the railway is not as great as other textures. :hattip:

5/5. :horsie:

:wow: The first road course which really looks like a road course. (And not only 2 streets) Really great graphics, with this track the "trackmaster" is really deserved :)

Yay, it's very pleasant to see another high-quality [roa] track after Ivo's :)
I'd say that the track is quite hard to drive (you don't have a second to breathe!!) since it's very twisty and if you do a mistake is hard to get back into the perfect line, especially in the rondabout and the section after it. Even if it's quite hard to drive I prefer the slower layout.
The scenery is nice, I have to agree with ivo about the railways though.

I'd say 9/10

Thanks everyone! :)

Now that you mention the railways, it would've looked much better with both tarmac colors used

Any other comments, please? :D

Great track! I think is one of your best.
The layout is perfect, it's really challenging and funny to drive.
I agree with Trigger Happy and Darjo about the railway but for me it's a minor problem.
5/5 :)

Congratulations, I liked very much. It gives a great feeling that you're really driving on a road, and the layout is awesome :bg:

One of my favorite [roa] ever, alongside Mirabelle and Tattery Road

its interesting people picked up on the railway, personally the only fault i found was i didnt like the look of the narrow roads in the top right, more to the point, the fact you added a centre line on them. which imo shouldnt be there...

but other than this small detail, i love it, one of your best ever :bg:
