[kar] Battaring

Post by zsoltbartok »

Hello there, a new track again:
BATTARING
It's a rwl Hungarian karting track, the next addition to my recent GR project (full screen, small sized and narrow tracks for the original gokart). This is a short, training/recreational ring which has a bridge/tunnel plus a chicane as characteristic features. Funny but if you use the original gokart, the lap times are identical to the real world times! That's how small this track is in reality! :)

Details:
-The bridge bug made my life difficult but now it's OK.
-Because of the bridge this track is not as narrow as my previous ones so it's easier to drive (a bit :) ).
-I added some extra objects because the real scenery was rather boring.

Have fun!

Uphill looks ugly, also the tunnel what goes under the bridge is pretty ugly too, those garages next to the track aren't attached to each other and that finish line gate could be replaced by a normal gate. But otherwise a pretty average rwl-track. (have seen better though)

Is it me or is the crossover section really inaccurate?

The track has a different pov than the photo.
Yes, the buldings are close to the uphill section and the hmap makes them look not aligned even when they are. I am not a great hmap magician and I couldn't lower the house area without ruining the smooth uphill/bringing back the nasty bridge bug.
The gate object is way too wide and big here, it's actually a lot uglier than a fake one...
thx for the comments!

I´ve tested it and...well it looks nice, it drives quite nice but it´s also way too narrow for PvAI racing...

A pity theres still the bridge bug, cause it's not that fun to drive over it.
But I like the start gate. interesting idea ;)
So 4,5/5 :bg:

@Ms...: Thanks, man! I mainly use your v2.0 kart and it's awesome! The truth is: I make these tracks for that car!
@XYY: I experience no bridge bug, maybe a tiny tiny bump but not the annoying bug. Do you have it? No idea why...
@Dan: Yeah I know many find my kart tracks narrow. This is the point in them! I can drive and beat the AI 100 with no (OK I'll be honest, with a little :) ) difficulty and I am far from being a top dog. If it would be very hard to do races on my tracks I wouldn't post them at all!

Thanks for the comments!

Oh, you use the Formula. With the gokart there is no bug. No idea why it is so. I tested the track only with the gokart, other cars are too fast or big here. But anyway it is certainly there, I also checked it. (good gif BTW and off but how did you make it that my Internet Explorer didn't slow it down?). I can't repair it, this is the best I could achieve, I still have to experiment with bridges. Anyway, use the original gokart as I suggested, with that car it's cool and playable.

My mozilla also makes this slower in "full"-size.
But anyway, I know how hard it is to make bridges without bug.
I tested with go kart, you don't really feel. I might also test with masa's go kart (or has it the same physics?) :)

About the bridge: I think that you might consider adding the revers version

Other wise it's looking really good and I expect it to drive nice as well :bg:

Despite of all its deficiencies and bugs it is stunning!
I'm sure it would be a great round of a karting compo
So, anyways, you did a good job again :bg:

Can't wait to see Miskolcring... :D
