[cir] [rwl] Knockhill

Post by TomMcKay »

Hey!

Some of you might remember me from long ago when I made tracks and posted them on the RSC forums (who is still around?). About a year ago I uploaded a screenshot of this track but never got around to uploading it. Last week I played GR again for the first time in ages and thought I had to share this track!

It's the Knockhill racing circuit in Scotland, UK. It hosts the BTCC and F3 and bike championships (I think). I've tried to include as much detail as I can, and it's fairly accurate. One of my favourite circuits!

I started making it about 2 years ago, and kept leaving it, but it has had extensive AI testing. I hope it's a good track that you will all enjoy because I loved making it and I love to drive it because it's very narrow and difficult, and I don't think I've ever beaten the AI here haha! Only space for 4 pits, but hopefully this won't be a problem.

Enjoy!! Feel free to leave comments, and let me know if it works! It's been a while since I uploaded a track (about 4 years lol) x

Hey, TomMcKay is back in action, great to see you here man

The track looks quite good and I like that little detail you added on one of the runoffs on the bottom of the track

Hello,

I only know your name from some old tracks of yours, but welcome to the forum! :hattip:

The track is really amazing, considering it's been 4 years since you released your last track. I don't know how the real track looks like, but I like the lively infield on yours. Not so much the surroundings though (like that mud spraying around the walls for instance).

But like I said, a very nice track and I hope to see more from you soon.

Its not shaped exactly like the real thing, but that certanly ain't a bad thing!

Its been wee adapted for the world of Generally! And as a Scot who often visits this wonderful little circui..... I LOVE IT!

Merged double reply from Thu Oct 21, 2010 7:03 pm:

Incidentally... I released a version of Knockhill around a year or two ago under the name of Nickyf1 on RSC, I don't know if anyone here happens to have it? If you do, please PM me :)

back on topic now ;)

Hi Tom! About RSC, unfortunately it never sprang back to life which is a shame because it had thousands of mods for this game. You should update your website at http://www.mckaygenerally.vze.com

Thanks guys! Glad you like the track!

Hopefully I will have time to make some more tracks, but I am very busy these days with working and studying.

I had to adjust the shape of the track slightly (the section before the hairpin especially) to fit it into GR, and to make it drive better, but I think it's come out pretty well!

IF this track was on RSC, then why isn't it in restored tracks? :really:
