 [rwl] Classic European Ovals
Been working on this one for a while now but busy with stuff. Finally was able to finish it though. 3 Classic Ovals: Monza----high speed concrete that shakes your car apart Sitges Terramar----Patch work asphalt with steep banking Brooklands----Olde English oval racing with a circuit and fictional kart layout It's funny how Europeans dislike Nascar even though oval racing originated in Europe. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TOO Merged double reply from Mon Dec 20, 2010 5:44 pm: Circuit and Kart Brooklands

 Re: [rwl] Classic European Ovals
Oval racing did indeed originate here, but then so did almost everything else We dislike NASCAR because all the cars are literally just restickered versions of each other - even F1 and DTM aren't quite that similar. Of course, there is still some great racing in NASCAR, but some people won't accept it, just as some Americans won't accept other sports. Anyway, to the tracks - they look great, good job

It's very good track but one thing is little tricky. When I hit the fence I flew over it. Here is some pics.

Don't hit the fence then it's a [rwl] track so he can't alter the HMAP or the walls to fix the issue.

I like NASCAR Anyway the tracks are really good. I like the dithering effect you've used on the road so it looks like the road's made out of seperate panels.

 Re: [rwl] Classic European Ovals
i love nascar, its like most sports, the more you watch and learn about it, the more you like it so not all europeans hate it.
they look pretty good, deffinatly have a classical edge to them. but (if anyone can confirm this) i think your brooklands oval goes the wrong way?

 Re: [rwl] Classic European Ovals
I think so and on contrary I would welcome a turn-left alternative version for Monza (for Monzanopolis event), otherwise I like them, even if there are some minor bugs (like hmap bump on members banking on brooklands) and I bit miss the last of the Euro legendary ovals - Montlhéry. Great project!

That photo surely has place in my archive. And here is tiny one, how it looked in deep past (notice e.g. much bigger uncovered stand or less trees). But let's end this bit off-topic.
