[stc] Cyrano Town

Gravel, tarmac, snow. Whatever the surface, you'll find it here.

[stc] Cyrano Town

Post by Emil Patanen »

I have had some thoughts about making a street track for some time and now I finally really bothered to try to make one.

This track has 4 different layouts: GP, international, national and oval.

There is probably more green than you would expect to see in a street track. Also, hmap isn't the most usual for a street track ;)

My original idea was that quite a big part of track would have been driven on a parking lot, but the track evolved so that there is only a couple of corners and short straigths on the parking lot and it isn't used at all in the oval version.

An updated version in this post.

:iagree: I personally like Oval and national. The use of landmap and the combination and placement of objects is great! The trucks made from concrete walls, booths and sunk tyres is a great idea. They may look strange to someone but I think they look good! One of the best street tracks I've ever seen!

:star: 5/5 :star:

This track is great, specially after getting used to the hmap it's nice to drive.

I would've removed the white lines on the pit lane and parking lot on parts where the track goes. It makes the track a lot less messy and better looking, I think. See the pic if you didn't understand what I mean.
I don't like this dithering, I think that very light dithering would've looked also less messy. (maybe something like in my Prodeezee) And more realistic too, as it's mostly in parks and parks have clean grass. :)

Oh my, the W7 paint makes huge files, XP paint made them like 250 kb

Thanks for your comments, Ms..., Ivo, Garbre and Aleksi. :)

I've updated the track by making the changes Aleksi suggested and also removed a couple of white lines in other places where I thought removing them was needed.
The track does look better this way.

thats why people tend to produce two versions. personally i dont mind either way, although if its a larger track (255ish) then it helps to have no lines.

Great track though HJ, reminds me of my mitchell park/Las cruces. theyre great fun, although oddly compared to everyone else, my favorite is the International version

An almost perfect creation man! There are that point about lines, but i can see that for that street track, it´s a particularity on it. For this one seeming more a suburban area, using some permanent and non-permanente roads it was quite convenient, lines were well worked to me. Worth a TOM nomination.
Try other tracks by myself: Agrestina -Tristar - Petra
