ToM Annual Elections 2010 (ToY and PoY) (results released)

Post by GeorgM »

Dear community,

I am pleased to announce the Annual Elections 2010.
These elections are the Track of the Year (ToY) and the Pack of the Year (PoY) which take place yearly.

Fortunately we have a PoY election again, after it couldn't take place last year due to the troubles with RSC. :)

Website page about the Annual Elections, including old results:
http://tom.gene-rally.com/annual-elections.php

:gr: :gr:

What are the rules ?

The rules are similar to the ToM rules. The differences you can find in Rule 6.
Please read the rules if you haven't done that yet.

How long can I vote ?

To vote, write a PM to me, including name and author of the tracks and/or trackpacks. (URL is not needed)

The Annual Elections 2010 end at Saturday, 2nd April 2011, 18:00 GMT.

:gr: :gr:

Track of the Year

There are no nominations, but you can use the podium tracks and/or the elected tracks of the ToM elections of 2010 to make your decision. Another possibility is to take the tracks you elected in 2010 as a base. Just look at the list below.

You can vote for up to 5 (five) tracks.
Pack of the Year

Have a look at the nominees. If you want to take a closer look, check out the list of eligible trackpacks, look below!

You can vote for up to 3 (three) trackpacks.

So I'm looking forward to your votes! :bg:
Best regards
Georg

I´m actually a bit disappointed by low number of voters :(. Next time there should be global announcment in some bar or something just to catch attention of everybody at the forums :2c:. Now it isn´t much prestigous with "just" 18 voters.

But congrats to Maciej1, Ivo and LongBow for succes in ToY :bg:.
And to TuomoH, egamad and Maciej1 in PoY.

Thanks to all who voted my tracks and trackpacks :bsmile: . Bronze medal in PoY is my biggest succes in annual elections :D.

Wow, thank you very much, everyone. :) Now I've won at both ToY and PoY, maybe some day I'll win my first ToM too. :D

Congrats to the other podium people.

And to those complaining about the low number of votes, it's actually 1 more than last year.

True, although i only joined the forum a year ago. But i was trying to say that the turnout for TOM
was almost twice as high. I would expect that such a major even for the forum members would get a higher turnout than normal elections.

BTW Congrats to all those who received votes, you are all very deserving of them.

Try going for the grand slam next years by winning both! :D

I think the thing is that with ToY there are so many great tracks to choose from that it's too hard for many members.

I doubt that's possible with my current trackmaking style. ;)

:wow: The results are a real surprise for me....I would never expect to win a ToY medal. With so many great tracks I would never expect that my Roulette would get a medal

Thank you very much for all the votes.... :drink:

...about the number of community members who voted, I think the ToY voting period should be announced on the "global" scale.
I was personally aware of the voting period but it really slipped out of my mind to send my votes....too busy with hundreds things...

I also feel that the ToY and PoY were a bit underadvertised, but thumbs up to all who voted (especially for my tracks  ). Seriously, I was kind of hoping to get a few votes in each category, but a silver in PoY was beyond my expectations! :faintgirl:

Congratulations to all winners, all very well deserved.

With the 18 voters the more interesting is result of winners, ToY perfectly 50%, PoY even more. Simply well deserved. :winner:

And my huge thanks to all 7 guys, who voted Mirabelle :bg: and especially Cristiano, who even voted Tuiuti at same time. Thank you!

If you remember back a while (few weeks) on top of every page there was a notice, it should be something like that in my opinion

Congratulations to the winners! Nice tracks indeed, though I still think that we usually put the look of a track at a first place even though driveability is somewhere more important. But anyway winners are chosen and I will drink a beer to guys who achieved that!
I'm very happy that we managed to make another PoY election after a year break.
And the last - even though the attendance wasn't that high as we all wanted I gladly thank everyone who found time to send his vote to GeorgM and to everyone who just came here to know the results. And my big respect to GeorgM for making this election.

Oh, and thank you to Dan for voting at my Garej Dion!

I like the results, both ToY and Poy, there are outstanding works on the top! :bg:

Well, it's just like everything else in life, the look determines things heavily (e.g. girlfriends :) ). The hidden beauty, the perfection in gameplay can only be revealed if some efforts are made, like practicing for login races. My votes were partly based on my racing experiences (gameplay). Of course I also voted for tracks that I found stunning, but I couldn't help it :)

I really really thank you guys for your votes on my tracks, especially one certain gentleman who voted for both...
