[rwl] [cir] Autodromo Municipal de Balcarce

Post by Black Rebel »

Hello guys,

it have been a looooooooooooong time since my latest circuit, 2 years as least, or even more. But finally I am back again, and I am back with a brand new circuit:

AUTODROMO MUNICIPAL DE BALCARCE (a.k.a. Autodromo Juan Manuel Fangio)

Autódromo Juan Manuel Fangio is a motorsports circuit located near Balcarce, Argentina. It has hosted events in the Turismo Carretera series. Possibly it is one of the most challenging circuits in the amazing Argentinian series. The Generally recreation of the circuit is also really bumpy and challenging, in the limits of my "Hmaping" skills.... :bg:

Track of year, definitely... Bridge is fenomenal, crowds, cars, etc. - gorgeus  I can't take my eyes from it. Only Hmap could be smoother.

6/6 for me :bg:

Indeed Hmap should be smoother, way better, but I have never been a master with it... :). Ayway, I Hope I get a ToM at least as I have never ever got one. :D

Thanks for your positive feedback guys!

As already mentioned, the Hmap is the only little weak spot about it, but it is absolutely drivable, so I'd rather call it a feature than a bug... The bridge section actually is one of the very few bridges that actually integrates totally seamlessly with the track. Indeed perfectly done!
And concerning the looks - WHAT A PIECE OF ART! Absolutely awesome how you integrated the hills and all that level of detail, the crowds, the little kart and dirt track and the surroundings... wow.

I am now extremely tempted to ask you whether you would be willing update your Donington track: http://forum.gene-rally.com/viewtopic.p ... 775#p40775 :D
Speaking of Hmaps - on Donington the Hmap is a really great one - you may not be a master with it, but you definetly know how to resemble a tracks atmosphere - in Donington's case also with the Hmap. :bg:

Meh, why do you push to our heads your personal opinion every week? Areen can think, what he wants.

Edit: track tested, excellent effort. The grid and pits seems to be quite close to first curve, but I guess, that you hadn't much other options because the layout shape. :gpush:

Yes, indeed, as you see in the real life picture pits and starting line shoud be away from the first corner, but I had to adapt it to the GR limits of space in order to make the circuit driveable without changing much the layout. Thanks! :bg:

Great to see another Argentine track, they have some great circuits. and its equally great to see a new track by you. you've lost none of your skills, definitely a huge inspiration in my track making! I love the atmosphere youve managed to create in this track, absolutely awesome. I really need to practice even simple lmap drawing like this :sweatdrop:

Obviously you had to compromise in some areas, its a tight squeeze to fit this track in, but a fantastic job as ever! :bg:

Hey, great thanks. These comments are really important for me, specially coming from you.

I was thinking in proposing you to create a side/by/syde project and create some Argentinian and Brazilian circuits, maybe we could ask Maciej aswell... that would be great, specially because there are some cool circuits in south america still to be done for GR. Turismo Carretera and the Stock Car Series in Brasil have really cool circuits.

Perfect. Absolutely perfect. The way the flat bridge blends in to the road, the Lmap trucks, the Lmap rocks/cliffs and the cleanliness of the track make me give it a 10/10. :bsmile:

Wow, oh my god. Brilliant attention to detail, I love even that a tractor is there at the farms too.
Cliffs look odd to me though?

Only possible option I can see shorter pit line (4-5 pit crews) like you did in e.g. Padborg Park. Maybe it could work here too.

Yes, you´re right that was the only option, and even placing the starting grid before the pits section, on the early part of the main straight. But I still liking more circuits with 6 pits than circuits with 4 or 5.
