Re: Well... Have to go for now.
That's really-really-really sorry. And all of us will miss your champs.
Re: Well... Have to go for now.
You're definately one of the best competition organizers there has and will be, thanks for all of your great competitions with so much commitment and professional way of doing them. I know some day you will organize Silhouettes for once more .
My current status
A few of you may have noticed I haven't been online for a few days. This is because I have had a suspected rootkit virus which, quite literally, has destroyed everything on the computer, near enough. I have only had two partitions survive this intact - lost one entire hard drive's data, and two other's partitions. So I won't be hugely active over the next few days or maybe even weeks as I try to restart once again. It is also likely that it will be quite a while before I make anything for GeneRally again. Apologies, but that's the way it is I'm afraid. I'll keep an eye on the forum, but it won't be a close one.

Tell us, what did you do when you got the virus? Looking at specific images...?Lukeno1 wrote:A few of you may have noticed I haven't been online for a few days. Re: My current status
No, I have no idea how I got a rootkit virus, or when - all I know is that everything got trashed.

The lost Ninja has to take a break :-(
Hi guys, I'm sorry to say that two things are broken.
First of all, my PC had a total shutdown. i can start it up, but my monitor doesn't receive any signals at all.
The problem is, The gfx card is onboard, so I have to find out what the problem is.
(I'm writing this from ma daughter's laptop).
That's what brings me to the next broken thing:
My right arm!
2 days ago, I fell on the floor in our garage, got stuck with my foot.
While trying to catch my fall, I broke a bone of my right arm.
Writing this post is already painful enough, so I'm forced to take break for a while.
This means that I'm not reacting on threads, and I won't be able to send any tracks, cars, tools etc. for the next couple of weeks.
I feel sorry for this, but I'll definitely be back!
Yours stupid & clumsy,
The lost Ninja

Tried swapping monitors/cables? And is your PSU still working fully/powerful enough?

Any sound coming from the mobo's speaker on startup? If not, the problem is the motherboard... If you do, the problem is either RAM, GPU, CPU or even maybe the PSU
And BTW, you could just ask your daughter to write in here what you think about tracks and cars

OR the onboard card has conked out, sometimes they do whilst the rest of the board functions. The Great Falcon wrote:Any sound coming from the mobo's speaker on startup? If not, the problem is the motherboard... If you do, the problem is either RAM, GPU, CPU or even maybe the PSU

Re: The lost Ninja has to take a break :-(
Then, if the onboard GPU is dead, wouldn't just putting some card in that PCIe slot fix the problem? I'm actually quite condused by the onboard thing... You said it was a GFX... But isn't these quite high-end cards which are not usually onboard? Anyways...The lost Ninja wrote:Exactly THAT's what I'm expecting.Lukeno1 wrote:

Take care of you, heal your arm and come back as soon as possible or when you want.

Get well soon! And this might be an opportunity for you to train your left arm in typing. I hope you're insured and you'll get enough money out of this to afford a new computer.

Have to go for a while...
You're probably guessing why I haven't been online lately (and missed the first GRC races).
From today until the 1st of April (yeah, April fools sucks sometimes), I will be taking a series of graduation tests. I spent the last weeks to revise the whole subject, because these exams were important to me, therefore I have to miss the first GRC races.
In final words, I apologize to the guys at Monkey Crew. I know it's hard, but it's unavoidable.
Bye for now.
