[kar] Ocupi

Gravel, tarmac, snow. Whatever the surface, you'll find it here.

[kar] Ocupi

Post by Emil Patanen »

Here's again a new track from me. It's a kart track, in which I tried to create an impression of it being an indoor kart track. That means that it works only in 4:3 screen ratio, because it needs to be fullscreen to create that impression.

It started with an idea of creating a custom stand by using hmap and person object. Then I thought that best solution for the track was to make it like stadion style kart track, where spectators can see almost whole track from one stand. Later I came up with a thought that maybe it could work as an indoor track.

So, here's the result of my work. In overall, I'm happy how the track turned out. I would like to have a bit higher stands, but they need to be this tall to make the right sponsor ad look okay.

The track has an alternative version with different starting grid layout, in which the cars have bigger gaps between each other in the start.

I suggest you to race with Scarlet Devil Raceworks Racing Kart 125 on this track. The pit lane isn't very wide and driving original or UOGRC Go-kart on it isn't very easy.

IMO it's quite wide for indoor track, more suitable for 12 vehicles or so ;). And it's rather bumpy which I don't like so much when driving karts. I agree about benches, they're fantastic, but too big for these people :D. And these ads are gorgeous .

It indeed could be narrower, because it's an indoor track. I noticed this already whilst making the track. But I felt that it would be nicer if I let it be this wide.

I'm surprised how much people like those benches. They were meant to be just filling up some space.
