I'm bit shocked, that so far rallycar and mini seem to caught most of our attention, I expected e.g. more go-karts or trucks, because I thought they're quite popular car for smaller tracks.

Trigger Happy wrote:I finally completed the 12th car. Here is the pack, it includes 4 new models (Onewheeler, Rallycar, Sidamob and Yankee) and all others, very often with minor tweaks including some colour scheme changes, hopefully it's enough good and amuse somebody. :)

IMHO, the Yankee looks a bit too much like an import. By the original body shape, name, and performance, I'd say it was closer to a '70s muscle car or derivative.

I understand, that this is not most common perception of the Yankee, but for my personal feelings yankee always was a prime choice for ovals, a kind of a Räbinäs' stock car. So not a customised vintage car from 70s (or vintage race car), but a contemporary racing machine like its counter-parts formula, rallycar or sidamob, so I did this step by a little bit different direction than other updates with hope, that it could please also somebody other from the minority sharing similar PoV on the car. :)

To me, the yankee should be a muscle car or a stock car of some description, but that's just how I'd make it (and indeed did make it).

The grill of your Yankee reminds me like the Chevrolet Camaro and it's nice. :)

As an American I see validity to both perspectives. It's just too bad that only one of each vehicle will be selected. A lot of these models look terrific. Keep up the good work everyone! :bg:

This? (and IMO this is pretty much the same as a restored '70s muscle car)

No, no. It's not an example for Trigger Happy. It's just my entry.

I agree with this viewpoint - I don't agree with the way you did it.

For me something more like Outlaw Late Model cars seem to fit the Yankee's description better - it's fairly heavy, a bit drift-happy around fast curves, and decent both on and off-road. Also they look cooler.

Re: Update Original GeneRally Cars 2011 - Truck by XYY

Post by XYY »

So, I was able to finish my Truck now!
Although it may look a bit high in the editor, it works well in-game. The truck could be a race truck, I think. Note that I won't go on with this style of making holes where the tyres are for my following cars, it takes too many vertices :D

Hopefully you'll enjoy, I think I can soon add the other cars I didn't do yet (Mini, Gokart, Monstertruck and 1-wheeler). And don't forget to leave a comment ;)

Note: Now the full pack is available. You can find it here.

Nice one. :) Maybe I'd prefer primary color on top of cabine.

Thanks for the comment, I think I'll change that in the final version then ;) But I think then I should invert the coulour scheme at the back of the cabin as well, so that the primary colour is in the bottom and the secondary in the top :)

Yes, it's that time again - another update - v1f. It further adjusts the Yankee model to do away with the absurd width element completely, which might seem miniscule, but I feel is crucial.

For sure now, I'm hoping this will be the last update before the deadline, as I don't see anything else to change at this point in time.

Here's an updated picture.

Re: Update Original GeneRally Cars 2011 - MonsterTruck by XY

Post by XYY »

Here's my MonsterTruck! It's a Chevy-Silverado type of a car. At the beginning it got too high, but now it's okay I think. I hope you enjoy it. Please leave a comment.

Three more cars to go :D

Today is the 13.12.11. It's 11:11pm. This is my 2888th post. Should this be a sign? :shhh: ;)

Not bad, man. This is simple (only a few vertexes), but good. :bg: And the time you've uploaded it was a good one :D

It actually uses all vertices, but thanks for the comment, anyway... :P
