@ ujszi: Unfortunately it's illegal to share these Microsoft's dlls separately, that's why they cannot be added to the default archive directly.

Have you tried to download and install the 32-bit version of Visual Studio (or how it was called :D )?

Lotus_Renault_GP has a 64-bit system (Windows 7, I presume) so he need to download the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64) and not the 32-bit version as it wont work in his comp. ;)

nielske wrote:I followed all the instructions (installed the MS C++ pack, downloaded the .dll manually), but when I tried to register the .dll, I get an error from my machine. So I thought the .dll I downloaded (the one linked above) was faulty.

Did several restarts as well, reinstalled the .Net framework. If this hadn't been a new version of GR, I would have given up long ago.

What worked was installing the 32-bit/x86 runtime, even though I have a 64-bit system :-/

Phew.
This should show you that in some cases it's different

Install 32-bit version of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable, not 64-bit. I know that it's strange, but it really works.

dll problem on windows 7

Post by vjj_br »

Well, I don't know if this has been discussed but I'm having a problem with a dll. I've downloaded the msvcr100.dll but it still doesn't works. A message always appears and doesn't let me play. Is generally incompatible with the windows 7?

Hello!

I haven't yet read this whole thread, but it seems like many people are having these problems so I decided to write something that should help.

1) It doesn't matter if your system is 32- or 64-bit. Generally requires the 32-bit version of Visual Studio Runtime. (Tested on Linux Ubuntu+wine 64-bit, Windows 2008 server 64-bit and Windows 7 32- and 64-bit.)
Download link here: http://bit.ly/cJT7Gy

2) DO NOT INSTALL SINGLE DLL:s! Install the Visual Studio runtime, otherwise you'll just get a different error!

3) If you, for some reason, have already downloaded the single dll, use search and delete every copy of that file before installing Visual Studio Runtime 32-bit.

TLDR; Install the 32-bit version, and don't download MSVCP100.dll only and just think it'll work.

It is not that hard as some of you make it look like :)

I'm having the same dll problem, but only on the new 1.10 (b,c) versions. The download links in the readme-file don't seem to work for me, website claims it's a false url. Can somebody give me a sufficient link to this website?
Music, magic and mascarpone. Yes, I did it twice, but only twice! Would you just give me a damn second...?!

The link in readme works, used in past and now tested again.

BTW did you try to type the name of the needed thing e.g. into google before asking? When I try, first 4 rows goes directly on MS web to download of it (pick up x86 version always). ;)

I don't know who should I ask to help me?
No one in my city plays Generally and my brother can not fix it. He tried few times.
It would be great if there is some video so I could make it. I am very bad in informatics, I only know basics.

And have you asked here for help? Maybe it can worth. :) I don't remember, that you'd give us proper description of your problems or if you installed the file mentioned in readme, just rather random cries more-or-less implying, that you have problem with it.

And did you download and install the file mentioned in game readme? Sounds like silly question, but you haven't made this clear. :-)

How to install? Does that means that I must extract files from zip to folder? If that means that, I have done that.

OK, then we'll take it from other end. After extracting the zip step 2: read the readme.txt. There is link for Microsoft Visual Runtime Package, did you download it and install it?
