[stu] [oth] Splash

Post by Glen »

Finish!!! I worked 8 hours in a row on this track!!! :meditate:

And i'm very happy to present you : Splash
Splash-Day.jpg
It's a very tricky stunt track somewhere in the Generally Marina.

It's my second "art" track after Perros. I spent 2 hours on the shadows. I started by drawing on a 64*64 squared paper a stunt track that will perfectly fit with the Hmap.

You can, of course, go straigth during the double jump. You will only be slowed down by the water.

I designed the track for cars like the "McTurbo", if you fall out of the track, you can come back on the track without problems.

And the only walls you will find are the "water" stands.

So enjoy the race and try to win against 100 leveled AI's (very difficult!!!) :goodvibes:

Updates : Widescreen version added, trackname shorted to be viewed in the game menu, water level raised up from 30 to 36 (road = 40)

It looks very interesting.
You could make better dithering on some curves. :bg:

Thanks, but I did it so, because I wanted to keep a nice simple road color.
And it isn't a normal track with : Road, blank line, kerb, grass and gravels. I did only funny grass outrun's.

I tryed to do some dithering, but it doesn't looked as I wanted.

But I'm happy than you like it.

EDIT: please comment before rating.

I love this track! It seemed like it was going to be a hard-to-drive track, but it's actually very easy (but hard to master XP). Nice track!

You should scan the paper you used, scale it to 512x512, put it in a GR exported bitmap and import it, put it on the track and test it.
Do you have/need useful GeneRally tips & tricks?

:o You gived me a good idea for an other track, but I will wait a little bit, because i'm posting so much tracks than it can be boring for the forum. But you will of course be credited for the idea ifI publish the track. :D

I don't see anything boring in the fact that there's someone posting innovative tracks. :P

This may be a simple idea, but IMO it's really well-done - the objects work great, the grass makes it a lot easier to race, and I absolutely love the S-jump (especially where with the Formula, you usually splash the water just a little bit...) I don't know if it was intentional or not, but I like the effect that the wide white lines add - they make the track look narrower, but ultimately give you a little bit of "extra" room.
I like short, simple signatures!

The formula car has the minimum required speed for this track, I designed the track for cars like the Macturbo. It's the down force who matters, the formula car with his wings don't fly far :)
The S-jump is where I started the track.
And I put "wide white lines" to separate the road and the water, I didn't expected such effect! :)

Happy to see than you like it :p

reminds me of a mario kart style track

good job :)
Hannu, who art in Finland, Räbinä be thy name. Sim racers come, races are won, at Agari, as at Xupong. Give us this day our version 1.06, and forgive us all our impatience, as we race those who challenge against us. Lead us not into boredom, but deliver us from work. For thine is the GeneRally, and the AI, and the race cars. Amen!
