[cir] Ocean island

Post by Von Mantov »

Hi friends..

Ocean island is a track that was built on an uncharted island with an active volcano ..
the difficulty of the track will be high at first but discovered how to anticipate the curves and jumps should be very fun

good swim ... and be careful not to fly off the cliff :mwahaha: :stir:

Looks great!! Your best track.
I would make pit entrance more open but it makes track more interesting.
I like your crazy hmaps but I would like to see normal tracks from you (like rwl circuits, rallys, street circuits) which would be real and with normal hmap.

hello dear Cocney
yes
My hmap is crazy ..
was a way to differentiate my tracks from other creations ..
and do something different than usual
anyway...I will realize some tracks with less extreme slopes and more realistic curves...
as you want ...
I promise :bg:

I think what Woppoz was getting at is the low view angle seems unnecessary. Having non-standard (standard being defined as 0/90/180/-90 degrees rotation and 60 degrees view angle) PoVs is fine if there's an actual reason for it, whether it be artistic or just because you're not using the full landmap, but what you've done here seems to detract from the experience. There are trees blocking the road in several places, as does the heightmap itself.

It's not as much of an issue if these tracks are intended purely to watch AI racing, but I would have to assume any track is meant to be raced on by people whose only view of the track is the one you've given them. Therefore, it's best if whatever PoV you give the track allows for easy viewing of the entire racing area.

None of the above is meant to be harsh, but this is something that is easily correctible and yet I feel a massive flaw in your track.

Also, the second zip you posted has a track that doesn't have an AI line or the starting positions in the right spot.

Not entirely truth, that's cool thing, it adds much for the driving, not just some artistic weirdness. As we don't drive by eyes-navigation only, but also by rhythm of track (or how to call it), there's no issue, if car is hidden for a tiny moment here or there around layout (any bridges block more than any of trees here). So it has a reason - to make the driving experience even deeper. :yummy:

And of course if you don't like the POV you can always open the track in the editor and adjust it for your own personal use :shhh:

Looks good, I must say. But just to give my :2c: on the POV discussion, you can also in future post two versions of the track, the POV you like and then a boring POV for other people. ;)

may be a solution :bg:
but I prefer the criticism of those who want the usual
PoV ..
There are millions of tracks out there .. if you want a mantov creations .. here it is ..uncompromising
my signature is on every detail of the track ... and the PoV is designed meticulously on each creation to make them playable but special and not commercial... :)

would be easier for me to copy tracks of success but here it required a more effort to learn

......However, I accept any form of criticism ...
is always a good thing ;)

I like your attitude, mantov, even though I stretch my eyes playing your tracks on my laptop's small screen. But you know, there are also other ways of leaving your fingerprints on your creations than simply make them next to impossible to drive. I'm not saying you should "commercialize" them, as you so delicately put it, instead try to find a less radical (but still unique) way to sign your tracks (e.g. Masa's style is unique and surely not mainstream, but nonetheless very much drivable). It would be a true test of skill. :geek:

I usually play my tracks with friends ...
Tracks are not immediate but require the correct rhythm ... the fact that we do tournaments on these shows
which are not unplayable ..
I could easily raise the angle of ten degrees and solve the problem
but if I don't do this it's because i require a greater effort to understand
I think this will give greater driving satisfaction after the proper training time
(that for some people may be long
  and for other immediate..)

thx for your comments :bg:

Very fun track, the H-map has great job! But I want objects in the pit (Booth or House, etc..), because a bit bleak in there..

4.5/5! :yummy: the volcano looks splendid..
my rating: 5 star! ^_^
