[cir] [ovl] Autodromo di Putignano

Post by Trigger Happy »

Hello guys.

During weekend I finally found a time to finish one of tracks I'm working on, so here it is:

Autodromo di Putignano, Bari, Italy.
Coordinates: 40,846800°N 17,138476°E

Long circuit: 2,340 km (1,454 mi)
Short circuit: 1,220 km (0,758 mi)

Abandoned in the end of 1969 while under construction (70% of the track and 30% of facilities completed), never opened for racing.

I found this track rather by accident on gdecarli.it site, no more details are available next to the loose map there and aerial pics of the site, so I have no clue, how the track would look like, if finished. But because the layout seems to be pretty crazy I gave a try. :sweatdrop: Let's say what if it'd be first finished, then soon after abandoned, coincidently untouched over years and then reopened for vintage events (like the Goodwood Circuit in UK)? :meditate: Have fun. And a warning: be gentle to your left key/button, you're going to really need it here. :D

I REALLY like this style, and remembered -cbfs-. Even now, I play with his tracks.

About the track: The football ground looks lovely on the track. Those bridges were shown as the object flat bridge for me. But "Hmm.. It's painted!? :really:" ..After a while "I see how it is! :o" Very well-done and very nice idea.

5/5! :bg:

I've just racing on it and I have to say this track is fantastic to drive! It was really funny and enjoyable racing on the maximum of the layout. I have to race on it with my brother for sure :)
Another thing is looking of the track, what is really nice, nice light dithering and very smooth lines make circuit nice for eyes :)

Thanks for comments, Yonnie and David. :goodvibes:

The cars on screenshot are some classic LM cars by J4ber/TheZkip IIRC. Here on forum are some other various classic cars too (CamAms, F1s of various eras, Formula Easter, classic road tourers etc). I most often use default formula actually. :sweatdrop:

Ivo, I must say that you always manage to impress with your trackmaking. Such simplicity in your style and tracks that are very enjoyable for driving. You kept generallyish style in your tracks and we should all tend to make tracks in that style. Why? Because it is the best type of track for this game. Short, enjoyable, simple and beautiful. From the moment I saw it, I knew that this track will get only 5/5. It doesn't deserve anything less than that. Masterpiece!

I keep meaning to comment on this one. Ivo you've surpassed yourself here, it's simply flawless no matter how many times I go back to it. Visually it's detailed and considered in every single corner of the map.

Your best track so far, its going to take something incredible to beat this for Track of the Year imo!

Some tracks are visually great, but this one, apart of being clean and well done, really invites you to race. Wide track, challenging layout. Top work.
