[rwl] [stc] ePrix Beijing

Post by Scholl »

Hey Guys,

New Track. The Formula E circuit in Beijing.
Probably one of the hardest tracks to build for Generally...
But I got it into my head that I wanted to create the circuit (and the surroundings) and I spent the whole weekend and more on it... :stir:
The outcome is rather something to look at than something to drive on.
I tried to stick to the real size-relations between streets, buildings and chicanes, so the track ended up being VERY narrow most of the time.
Still, I hope you like!

@Np2003: I saw your preview in the preview-thread. Your track looks much more driveable than mine, so keep it up! :bg:

Wait what? Awesome! Limits of GR? Yes, bird's nest is not like original, but IMO it is just awesome that it at least looks like a bit. I like it, really. TOM vote for sure.

Impressive effort, impressive work. Sis you considered about realising a clean version with dark grey lines?

Thanks for all the positice feedback! Really appreciate it.
IMO the track is far from perfect. I left out one chicane (compared to the original track) and the pit-tents are waaay to big. especially when compared to the stadiums. And there are a couple of other things that bug me.
I forget to put a shadow on the tent in the right-top corner. :shhh:

Do you mean of the birds nest? I went with ice-lines because the base-colour is already dark and light tarmac. So ice was the only possible option.
BTW: ALL the lines on the stadium are hand-drawn in paint... :pillepalle: what am I doing with my life?

I think he means on the roadways, changing the white lines to dark grey to make it a little easier to see the course.

Ui, late reply, sorry.
I wanted to keep the lines as close to reality as possible.
And because the streets in Beijing are often 3 or 4 lanes there´s a lot of painting going on.
But it´s definetly a good idea. Maybe I´ll do it someday.

Don't feel obligated, just kick off when you feel like doing it. :)
