Monza
Pergusa (2x)

There will be 10 races, because 2 race weeks will have 2 races. Pergusa (as season final) will have 2 races. The other race week with 2 races will be outside of Italy, but I plan to decide it with a poll. ;) And BTW there will be 6 Standings! Driver and Team standing for the full season, and each for the Italy races (red) and each for the Outside races (green). :)

This compo could start in Spring (if there won't be too much compos) :)
If you really wish to have a competition with my Abarths, you may want to change their physics for competition purposes. In it's current form the cars stick into sand/gravel, which is not wanted for a GR compo.

Robert, I'm sure you can find much more interesting tracks for the GeneRally Trofeo Abarth than RWLs. I don't know about the rest of the people, but I usually want to cry when I see another competition with real world tracks. The community have created thousands of beautiful tracks, but compo managers still use the same and the same RWLs. :headbang: :2c:

Same for me, it gets rathet tiresome seeing the same handful of tracks used so often. If it must be [rwl] tracks, at least use some of the more interesting/less used tracks (such as in GTT where F1 tracks are avoided like the plague), or prefferably fictional tracks of which there are lots of wonderful ones to choose from, some of them are even like [rwl] tracks as far as detail goes.

@Puttz: Spa, Spielberg (RB-Ring) and Pergusa are confirmed. But, if it will be good, I can replace Monza (or Misano) with Adria or Varano, Barcelona with Parcmotor Castelloli and Dijon with Pau-Arnos. Vallelunga is IMO ok. :)

GR IndyCup:
If someone of the IGRL team (zgr, ivaneurope or NicolasP) want to organize it, feel free. :D

Similar to the GR FormulaCup/TouringCup. (Non-login, 10km similar settings, car editor colored cars).

For S1 there could be circa 12 tracks. 4-6 oval tracks, and 6-8 sinuous tracks (all are fictional). :yummy:

Cars should be Indy-Cars.. :)

I agree about the rwl tracks. GR's heart and soul lie in the fantastic fantasy tracks, they should be used much more often.

That's why the TouringCup follows this pattern - using non-rwl tracks. However there are very few long course fantasy tracks and that hinders the choice a bit

I also agree with that.

If I'm using in my compos (GTT, Endurance) rwl tracks, I'm trying to select these less known tracks - I'm keeping simply rule to not using F1 tracks - some of them are IMO boring and in the countries like Italy, China or USA there are also other tracks, not only Monza, Shanghai or Austin. Like puttz said, "F1 tracks are avoided like the plague".

That's why in another Endurance Series season I won't use original WEC tracks - all of them are the same as in F1.

A nice calendar. :) But I would Tuiutí classify as a Road course, even when you are using the outer variant. :)

And BTW, could you make Standings for the at all, one for Road/Street circuits and one for Ovals. :)

Re: Competitions ideas

Post by ivaneurope »

After the success of the TouringCup this time during the long winter break until the start of S1 I plan to start something new - I present to you AutoSpeedway.

What does this concept look like? Well the concept is the same as the motorcycle Speedway GP, but with road cars. The cars will be from the B-segment, which is the segment used by WRC and WRX. So this means that cars like Citroen DS3, Peugeot 208, Ford Fiesta, VW Polo etc. will make the car roster. I plan to use a pack, provided by Herbal with rally physics from either AeroWiewuir R5 or Szmajli R5 cars. For now I plan 4 venues to be part of the event.

How the procedure will be. As in GRPL SGP there will be 3 stages, provided that we gather more than 8 drivers. The first stage will be Qualification/Main Event. Each driver must make 1 run on the 4 starting lanes - 1 of the lanes will count twice (like in the GRPL SGP). The top 8 then will go to Semi-Finals where will have 2 races on elimination basis. And only the top 2 drivers from both races will form the Final 4.

The compo will be non-login. More details can be revealed later as long as there's interest.
Planed car roster:
Ford Fiesta ST
Peugeot 208
Citroen DS3
Volkswagen Polo
Hyundai i20
Skoda Fabia Mk2
Mini Mk2 (Countryman is unavaillable)
Chevrolet Aveo T300
Toyota Yaris*
Renault Clio Mk4*
Dacia Sandero Mk2*

* - unavaillable

What about a Indy 500 Sim? :)

I would plan it so:

Login? Yes. (I finally have Excel :heyea: )

Calendar:

6th May, Grand Prix of Indianapolis Qualify. (3min [HL])
10th May, Grand Prix of Indianapolis (25km [R])
15th May, Indy 500 Testing day (10min [HL])
19th May, Indy 500 Qualify (4laps* [TT])
24th May, Indy 500 (200laps [R])

*You can make a 2nd login attempt, which will delete the 1st attempt.

Cars:
IndyCars (if there won't be any new made IndyCars, I'll probably use Fechna's Dallara DW12.

Track:
Grand Prix of Indianapolis: 2014 Road course (if nobody will make it, overworked MotoGP Road course by AeroWiewiur)
Indy 500: Indianapolis Oval by Milton Du Pont and Jimmy.

Would you drive there? ;)

Yup =) Took part in similar thing long ago - had much fun.
Depends on the car though - it should be kinda "loose", IMO - with oversteer, cuz it's easier physically at long distance.

I think the actual Indy 500 should definitely be a [R], 200 laps without the AI sounds so boring. Maybe forget about the GP, you might get more participants if it's just about the main event. :) For that the format HL+TT+R would be perfect! :2c:
