How sensitive do you prefer damage?

Post by Haruna »

Lately I've been fed up with winning races against AI by shoving them out of the way, so to get into the habit of overtaking more logically and cautiously, I turned up the damage settings to 70%.

I have normally between 10-20% so it is at least a little bit forgiving.

I have damage level on 10%, because on higher level, everytime, when AI hit me, i am the only one, who has damage.

I usually run at 15-20%, that way I'm usually not overly damaged by being roughed up or slammed around by the AI, but there's still that risk of messing up a corner and slamming into the wall causing you to get in trouble, rather then bouncing off and gaining time a la GT4.

I prefer 20%. Not too much, but race without any damage is sometimes boring ;)

Depends on what I do. Usually between 11% and 20%, but when I race with a friend of mine, 3% :D

Usually between 11% and 20%

BTW, for those who don't know it, you can reduce (of if you are lucky avoid at all) the amount of damage received if you step off the accelerator before the actual hit with an opponent/object.

Isn't this mostly because the car is going just a tad slower than it would be if it went full throttle into something that can damage it? The technique is kind of hit-or-miss for me.

I prefer the second one just because Gene Rally is Gene Rally. It's not needed to have realistic damage to be fun.

Yes, lowering the speed reduces the damage but the thing is not linear as someone might think. I have saved off my butt quite some times with just letting off the accelerator in the last second.. :sweatdrop:

I never changed from the default 30% Tyre, 30% Fuel, 50kg mass, 30% Damage setting since I first discovered GeneRally.

I'm using (mostly) 35% damage. Sometimes (when I'm driving the Astor Grind or a extremely track) I go to 0% damage. :cool2:
