Your Computer Configuration
Re: Your Computer Configuration
My comp started out as a big HP pack but now it is a mix. My monitor is a HP Pavilion f1723. My current computer is a emachines 370 with a 60gb disk drive and an Intel Celeron processor. My printer is a HP psc 1317 but it's reliability is questionable. Sometimes it prints other times it either says "no paper", "no ink" or sometimes it just does nothing. It can take up to 5 restarts in order for it to print. My mouse is an official Top Gear the stig laser mouse and my mouse mat used to be matching but yesterday i got a hand made Nissan Skyline mouse mat at the Hull Motor show. My keyboard is manufactured by Trust. I am running Windows XP Service Pack 3. My graphics card is an Intel extreme graphics AGP.
Look to the left ----------------> that's to the right, mate :(

Re: Your Computer Configuration
GTX275 is not that brilliant a card. You'd be far better off with an ATI equivalent - cheaper, less demanding on power and faster.
Re: Your Computer Configuration
How can you do that? I find only the video card, but not like that.ZeroCool wrote:

I'm using "PC wizard" too see whole config and other stuff.
Re: Your Computer Configuration
Well, it's about time I reveal what my second comp packs:
Pentium 4 2.0 GHz (Northwood)
512 MB DDR-RAM (two different stick speeds I *think*)
Sapphire Radeon R9550 128 MB
Western Digital WD400BB 40GB IDE hard drive
DVD-RW and CD-ROM drive
Currently awaiting delivery of a 15" TFT to replace the 1995-vintage HP D4804A or whatever it is.

Re: Your Computer Configuration
My crappy laptop (but thing, which I must use most often):
HP Compaq 6730s
''Processor'': Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5870 @ 2.00GHz
''RAM'': 2048MB
''HDD'': Hitachi HTS543225L9A300 222GB
''DVD'': Optiarc DVD RW AD-7561S
''Display'': SEC4E45, 15.4" (33cm x 21cm)
''Graphic'': ATI MOBILITY RADEON HD 3430 256MB
Wires: Agere Systems HDA Modem & Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN & Marvell Yukon 88E8072 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet
System: Win Vista Home Premium SP2.
BTW can you recommend a good tool on checking battery usage? Low use of CPU and memory, reliable info about remaining time and actual consumption? I tested at least dozen, but never was 100% satisfied.

Re: Your Computer Configuration
Damn, in this thread I saw some good configs, great for new games or so, but some parts of my PC are from GR releasing times
Only two I could recommend you: Everest and PC Wizard, my sister got those installed and they arent bad, just check which one is closer to reality for youIvo Porč wrote:BTW can you recommend a good tool on checking battery usage? They have too general range of interest for me. I look only for the battery-focused tool.ZeroCool wrote:Only two I could recommend you: Everest and PC Wizard, my sister got those installed and they arent bad, just check which one is closer to reality for you

There's a battery state gadget in Google Gadgets toolbar...Ivo Porč wrote:They have too general range of interest for me. Re: Your Computer Configuration
Google software is not very good in my opinion, I keep just google earth for rwl trackmaking. The second is for brenchmarks, as I said, I don't need general tool to see performance of all parts. Anyway, thanks for tips, TGF.

Re: Your Computer Configuration
Well, browse around the web site, I'm not so sure but I think I once saw something related to battery life, or at least CPU usage... Look out the other products from this websiteIvo Porč wrote:The second is for brenchmarks, as I said, I don't need general tool to see performance of all parts. Anyway, thanks for tips, TGF.
Re: Your Computer Configuration
Just asking, if I buy a video card like Geforce 9800 GT, will games run smoothly with 2.53 Processor?
Re: Your Computer Configuration
Depends on what the 2.53 GHz CPU is. If it's a P4, then no. If it's an i3 or i5, then it should be OK.
Re: Your Computer Configuration
Where can you see that?
I can buy a new processor also... Would GeForce GT 240 be better than 9800GT? Its cheaper.
and processor Intel Pentium Dual Core E6300, 2.8 GHz, 1066MHz, 2MB, LGA775, would be good or not? Its only 80e in jimms pc.

Re: Your Computer Configuration
You should have something like "accomplish" in your start menu.
it should look somehow like this after you opened
and then type in " dxdiag ".
You should somewhere find processor.

Of course that is german
You should somewhere find processor.

Re: Your Computer Configuration
Seems like I have to buy a new processor.
E: Is Intel Pentium DualCore E6600, 3,06GHZ 1066MHz, 2MB, LGA775 a good one?

Re: Your Computer Configuration
Wellm I have DualCore E8400 with 3.00 GHZ and it works fine with Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT

Re: Your Computer Configuration
An E6600 would be a very small improvement over an E6300 - simply overclock the E6300 to 3.06 GHz and you'll have an identical CPU. A GT240 or 9800GT shouldn't be too badly bottlenecked by an E6300, certainly not by an OCed one. Buying a Core 2 Duo will be an improvement over any similarly clocked Pentium DualCore, and nowadays for very little more - if you go down a Core 2 Duo route, I'd get an E7x or E8x at around 2.8 GHz+. If you can afford it, then go for a Core 2 Quad at around about the same speed or a bit higher than your PDC.Sutinen wrote:Seems like I have to buy a new processor.

Your best bet? Buy an ATI card. They're cheaper than NVidia equivalents and faster - enabling a bigger CPU upgrade. Just make sure your PSU is big enough to handle any upgrades - 450-500W upwards will be plenty.
Re: Your Computer Configuration
Thanks from helping, so I would buy ATI radeon card and Core 2 quad processor? Again, thanks.Lukeno1 wrote:

Would a Ati Radeon HD 5670, 1 GB GDDR5, 128-bit,DVI/HDMI/VGA, PCI-E be good? It has:
ATI Radeon™ HD 5670 graphics
Full support for Microsoft DirectX11
ATI Stream Technology
OpenGL®3.2 support
Dual-link DVI Support
Price is 122e.
and Core 2 Duo E7400 2.8GHZ processor.
I have +260e and price would be (for both) 252.
Also, whats PSU? Im not so good at computers, only using them.
Re: Your Computer Configuration
PSU is the power supply unit. aka, poweri.
BTW how much memory do you have? And I guess it's ddr2...
I don't personally see much of idea at pumping up on the graphics card that much, when the cache of C2D is as low as it is, 3MB of L2 no L3, and the memory of the computer is... Well... Old. You won't be doing much with the graphics card, if it is your memory that is coughing.
I'd say just clock the E6300 to the speeds Lukeno1 said and live with that until you have enough of money for a new motherboard, memory and processor.

Re: Your Computer Configuration
Well, 7600GT sounds terrible and it is terrible. I cant almost run rfactor at all.
Re: Your Computer Configuration
Welp, I forgot that part. So you might want to buy the 5670 now and then the other parts a bit later.
Re: Your Computer Configuration
Whoops, several misunderstandings in several posts.
My processor is Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.53Ghz.

Re: Your Computer Configuration
Ohh, ok. So do you have a motherboard that supports the LGA775 already?
