Safepit your cars and tracks?

Do you use the "Oil" surface as a pit limiter of sorts (and modify your cars and tracks as such), or are you fine with booking it at full tilt through pit lane?

I safepit all my cars except rally cars. Tracks, well, depends if I can be bothered to offer a version with it. xD

I don't use it because it's graphically horrible in tracks and it makes pitting silly.
I really don't like realism in Generally. Realistic physics for cars are ok just for boring games such as Forza, Gran Turismo etc...

In competitions it's ok but when I'm playing on my own I never use safepits - in fact, I don't even keep tracks that come only with safepits no matter how good they are otherwise. In principle, I don't mind driving on oil but it looks awful.

I agree with Darjo. Why would anybody want to rape the track's looks and part of the driving fun just for the sake of a little bit of realism?

GR is one 3D game, like many.
We play GR not for realism, but for fun.

EDIT: corrected as Mr.J said.

I have very similar PoV like Tuomo. No problem to use safe-pit tracks during a compo's event, but I almost never keep them in my track collection, because it's rarely nice and for private racing very useless unless somebody is a F1-hardcore. And I'm always very upset, when I see in a compo a safe-pit modification of a track made by a noob without trackmaking skill, who ruin by it the track (not often, but it happens sometimes). And what makes me especially crazy is, when I must use in compo a safe-pit car on a track, which has not only pits made by oil, but kerbs too. Simply to say, for me the black on track remains to be oil obviously. And oil slides, not slows down the car. :)

personal opinion: I don't like having to safepit my cars, but since a number of tracks I have are rigged with SafePits, my recent cars have been sadly rigged to those specifications. I also don't ever put safepits on my tracks...

The oil looks messy and I don't have patience to make changes on the cars. I prefer narrow the pit lane, forcing the drivers to come slower.

I usually dont care about safepits, but I prefer normal track without this addon.. BUT if someone wants generally to be more realistic one, he may use it with safepits palette without destroying the track's look.

I don't care, dude. I'll use either.

I think safepits are both good and bad. If you use them, pit-speed is realistic. But if you have no fuel anymore, it doesnt matter whether you have safepit or not. And it spoils the look of tracks.
Cause if you use the oil palette, all shadows will look weird :shake:
And another thing: you can use oil as kerb coulor if you don't use safepit cars

I've never felt the need, as 95% of tracks are designed with proper pits, that don't allow you to use them as shortcuts.
Also, wouldn't a simple chicane (on closed pits) do the trick?
