The Official Thread of The Strange and Useless
Yes! Indeed he's back! Dear thread... You missed me a lot...
So guys, you know the thing, right? I believe you'll remember the rules of this thread For those who are new (or amnesic), here they are those rules:
1. Content must be -related.
2. Content might be un -related only if pertinent in the on going topic
3. You might not post useful or non strange content
4. You HAVE to be at least funny... (silly, black and sarcastic humors accepted)
5. Don't be too much, well, spam-ish?
6. Normal thing used to be referred to as "Rules of the forum" does apply only if it's not going counter the present rules [1 to 5]...
7. ENJOY!

As this was a GR board last time I looked. Everything beside GR is useless. Which should go in this thread according to the title. Strange world that isThe Great Falcon wrote: 1. Content must be -related.
PS: Yes I stopped reading after point 1 of the rules

Since I'm usually tagged with the title "Captain Silly", I'll start things off.
Who are the people who shout "Woohoo! Woo! Yeah!"? Give them names, give them backstories, let's hear some silly theories.

Yes....I remember them vaguely, guess they all went to another game, called "GeneRally 1.6 beta".Dave Hunter wrote:Since I'm usually tagged with the title "Captain Silly", I'll start things off.

At least on my computer, because the last time I heard them was years ago.
(Means I don't use the default sounds anymore.)
My new audience sounds so much more professional!

I know (or knew) one of them!Dave Hunter wrote:[...]Who are the people who shout "Woohoo! Woo! Yeah!"? Give them names, give them backstories, let's hear some silly theories.
It's Jimmy!
He lived in that house in Sewring (don't know what track is? me too, see pic) when Hannu found him while looking for good racing spots. Hannu was almost leaving the area (already noting the location was good for a track) to search for more places when he saw Jimmy. Jimmy, curious as he ever was, asked what Hannu was doing in there (since almost no one ever appears around there, see, Jimmy is the only one around and didn't had much friends), Hannu told about that and Jimmy, happy about the possibility of getting known, asked if he could help.
-Me and my brother still didn't find people for some voice acting for a game we will make based on these races (think it's just a game? Räbinäs made tracks slightly based in real locations where they race on their real world Generals!) - said Hannu
-Well, I can help. Have not much to do - said Jimmy
Jimmy - aswell as some other guys that I don't know - did the voices, saw the first races!
He was in the RSC first blackout (and had his car stolen, these punks will pay someday!), helped on searching for more tracks, was very important for GR history. (how you guys don't know him?)
Unfortunately, Jimmy.. ..he...
I still get sad when talking about him. It's recent.
He died in the big RSC explosion wich caused it's permanent close.
Jimmy, rest in peace.

MMMhhhhh....... "A" lost Ninja wouldn't be specific enough, I'll stay with THE lost Ninja.
Which is already as lost as it can be!
(Meaning he can't win anyway ).

Guys starting with "The" aren't not that fast on track but they're fast in their minds I obviously also prefer TGF rather than AGF...The lost Ninja wrote:I'll stay with THE lost Ninja.

Last places? I don't remember when I was faster than you.Dan Hakulin wrote:an akulin? or aq? sounds terrible, I´ll stay with my name and last places in compos
In my case I can change my nick to my name and I'll be superfast. I will think about it.

Is your name Aaaandriy or Aaaanton?Buka wrote:In my case I can change my nick to my name and I'll be superfast. I will think about it.
Re: The Official Thread of The Strange and Useless
I guess it's just Aaaaaaaaaa
Re: The Official Thread of The Strange and Useless
Maybe I should change my name to Aendy since I always placed not on top rank. And I found out that a car named AE86 is so popular. Wait, A reminds me of... A-list celebrity and television shows which starts with A.

Woot! I found a glitch! ^^ in GR, click on the folder selector in the menu ( the thing with [all tracks]) and then hit Enter on your keyboard... The menu should turn blue
Re: The Official Thread of The Strange and Useless
Luckily this bug is quite harmless. Things go back to normal when you scroll the listThe Great Falcon wrote:Woot! I found a glitch! ^^ in GR, click on the folder selector in the menu ( the thing with [all tracks]) and then hit Enter on your keyboard... The menu should turn blue
And the story was whatever was the song what it was

Re: The Official Thread of The Strange and Useless
It's NOT a bug, it's a feature!
Something like the "boss-key", so that your boss can't see which tracks you're racing on, while playing at work.
Wait, you can't see the tracks for yourself either..... but after all this is the thread for the strange and useless.
