There are 3 winners who are supposed to return the interview weeks ago (Majortom, Reh and XYY). We will see many accidents in the German race if your theory is true. ;)

No crash here, I had more misfortune. One lap didn't coun't because I entered the Mobil1 corner on the sunktyres. How ironic  :rage:

It seems that the starting lap has a handicap gain over the rest. Will the starting lap count as FL as well?

If that should be the case: NO, it does not count then.

I had a test drive yesterday (see Twitter) and checked this out, too, and the initial gap was always closed by the time I reached the exit of La Source. Might be the result of the line I chose through La Source. So I'll have another go today.

I already logined yesterday and my starting lap was the fastest in the end. Do you take my second best in that case?

Yes. Same for those who are going to drive later this week.
Still, I'm not completely sure if the first lap is really an advantage. The difference between the lap time of your initial lap and your second best attempt is 2/100 of a second. Hard to draw a conclusion here. In my test drive yesterday it was the other way around.

Whatever, that doesn't change anything for you all as long as you don't quit after the first lap. :)

Edit:

First lap of your Qualifying attempt does not count!

Difficult Job this time.
Problems with Trackdesign results in some invalid laps.
Because this will not be intentional (except Reh ), best valid lap counts.

Pole for XYY - Congrats :bg:
Same time as akouk, but login 1 day earlier.

Replay of fastest laps (with/without cutting): link

TuomoH: first lap = fast lap 2. counts
Happy412: cutting 3 fast laps, 4. counts
majortom, kuba, Dany, SGRoe: cutting fast lap, 2. counts

Warning:
Reh: don't get extra speed in starting zone, next time BOP :greybeard:
3. lap (driven in one piece) counts,

You find your Startingposition for the Race on the right site of each row.
Racer without Qualifying start from P6.

Sorry for double post, but still :P
Am I right if I guess that the first lap of the race won't be allowed as the FL of the race? It would give me an unfair advantage

Not quite. We will add one lap to your overall race time so that you can lap fast from the start. ;)

Sorry, I don't understand it :? I thought that the same is applied to the race like it was in the Qualifying (example: TuomoH whose 2nd best lap counted). And how "add one lap"?

Punk'd! :)

There are no points to give for a fastest lap, so there is no need to regulate. It might be interesting for GWR stats though.
Just race and leave the rest to us.

Interesting that two stops was faster in the end...when calculating I got that this would be faster by almost four seconds, but every time I tried it I was slower than with three stop strategy...congratz TuomoH on this plucky decision.

Thanks. :) I tested once both strategies and my practice runs suggested 2 stops. My race was a bit slower than my 2 stop practice and I was a bit worried then that maybe 3 stops would be more beneficial. When watching the replay I was surprised seeing that I was the only one in top 6 with 2 stop strategy and it was quite thrilling watching the race. :D

Congrats TuomoH :bg: It was a tricky call the pit strategy. I decided to go for 3 stops for more secure traffic encounters, but I did a mistake at the beginning and lost crusial time.

I just watched the replay without knowing the result. It is much more exiting to learn the result this way. Anyone else also using this approach??

It was also interesting to see how the strategies evolve. In practice I lost too much time on 7-laps-old tires, therefore a 2-stop strategy was not an option. I also tried a aggressive run with a 4-stop strategy. I was actually quicker than in my race! But I decided to go with 3 stops with medium attack ;-) but it didn't work out properly.
