Re: F1 - Season 2012 *spoiler*
Well I was thinking about the press photos, not renders. But it seems like RB doesn't want to give them yet. Or they will come when Toro Rosso has been revealed too.
Edit: Aaaaand... Toro Rosso. Guess what the nose looks like.
I predict we will see many Toro Rosso wings flying as they snap in even a little bump...

Re: F1 - Season 2012 *spoiler*
TR nose looks best so far IMO. Nice feature with the air fence either side down the chassis
Re: F1 - Season 2012 *spoiler*
Williams is out now..
A pretty cool dark blue livery. If they just switched it to black... Otherwise the car is kinda... Normal.
Edit: So this is the reason they decided to put the hump in the Ferrari.

IMO that Williams looks even more hideous than any other so far

Ferrari is the worst by far. By the Way, Newey said that those "nostrils" are for cooling the driver
And the story was whatever was the song what it was

And for avoiding accidents.GeneSuomi wrote:Ferrari is the worst by far. By the Way, Newey said that those "nostrils" are for cooling the driver
Re: F1 - Season 2012 *spoiler*
Good to see Räikkönen in a good form already. Interestingly, they already beat the fastest lap of last year set in Jerez. And they also managed to do a full race length.
Not that promising for Caterham, though. The reliability seems to be a problem once again.
It remains to be seen which teams are intentionally slowing down and which are just simply struggling.
And.. "Newey said that those "nostrils" are for cooling the driver".. Suuuuuuure.

Welp, Jarno Trulli is out, then. He's been replaced by Vitaly Petrov. Not that surprising, really..

Re: F1 - Season 2012 *spoiler*
Due to his money and sponsors, huh? It actually doesn't affect the results of Caterham too much, and well, what a shame that Jarno might end his F1 career in the same way like Rubinho did.

Re: F1 - Season 2012 *spoiler*
Petrov is a better choice than Trulli. He's got more years in him than Jarno and if Caterham are serious about F1 they need stability
Hannu, who art in Finland, Räbinä be thy name. Sim racers come, races are won, at Agari, as at Xupong. Give us this day our version 1.06, and forgive us all our impatience, as we race those who challenge against us. Lead us not into boredom, but deliver us from work. For thine is the GeneRally, and the AI, and the race cars. Amen!
Re: F1 - Season 2012 *spoiler*
Not only that, I think Petrov is more committed, and equally, he has money behind him to further develop the car.
Re: F1 - Season 2012 *spoiler*
Yes, the biggest reason is obviously the sponsor money, but he proved last year that he is also a pretty good driver. He also managed to drop the amount of accidents, so all of the money won't go into getting new wings. And Trulli was indeed clearly out of motivation last year. It's obviously a bit of a shame that he got bought out of the seat, but it's also good to see the dinosaurs go out of the show finally.
Re: F1 - Season 2012 *spoiler*
Hmm, is it just the audio quality of the video or does that sound completely different to a normal F1 car? It has a roar reminiscent of the V12 and V10.Bob Barker wrote:

Re: F1 - Season 2012 *spoiler*
I wondered why teams were after 1st test repeating on every occasion some phrases about low grip on front to be solved by new wing in future tests. Has it something to do with this (the cars on pr/test photos so far hadn't a hole in nose, IIRC)?
My GR Racing Stats; thanks to GWR!

Re: F1 - Season 2012 *spoiler*
nice looking car, but everytime I see a stepped nose, I cry a little inside, I just dont want to see them, they should be blurred out or something
Re: F1 - Season 2012 *spoiler*
Mmh, yeah... The nose is quite horrible in this one. But they have done a neat job with the rear of the car. They have slimmed it as much as possible, so the car looks very nice from a top angle. That angle even hides the hideous nose..

Re: F1 - Season 2012 *spoiler*
Toro Rosso seem to be dominating the pre-season testing which is a worry for me as it may be an RB-TR clean sweep this year.

Re: F1 - Season 2012 *spoiler*
Dominating? Ehh? They've never been on top of the timesheet, their lap amounts are below average and they had a big engine fire. They seem to have reliability problems. And you have to remember that pretty much all of the teams are doing their own thing, neither of them are pushing the limits yet. Red Bull domination might be possible, though, since many of the people seeing the car live have said it seems to grip to the road the best. But then again, for many years Ferrari has been amazing in tests, but only average in races.
Re: F1 - Season 2012 *spoiler*
But on the Eurosport F1 website it had Vergne and Ricciardo at the top of the timesheet.1nsane wrote:Dominating? Ehh?
