F-Zero World Grand Prix (on hold)

Post by Rebellion765 »

Hey, guys! First, this is just a thought.
I'm working with Masa in some F-Zero stuff for GR and I have the idea to make a F-Zero championship.
Would be good or not?

Quality of a championship depends on vehicles, tracks and competition system.
For example, for F-zero, it would be good to have some replica tracks and vehicles from all eras (SNES, N64, GBA, etc). Also, it should be like the game, with both hot lap and races.
Just my own thoughts.

I agree perfectly.
The tracks I'm working on. They will be based on SNES and GBA versions.
Will be a hard work, but very fun.

DRIFT COMPETITION: I think there should be some "special" kind of race. Speed and style consists of a few laps (pretty short kind of event) where time AND drift is counted.

For example,
Total race time = 1' 36" 85
Total drift time = 11" 42
96,85 - 11,42 = 85,43
Total event time = 1' 25" 43

What do you think about this kind of competition??

and also if it is judged on style too, you can't judge it by drift time, unless I am misunderstanding your post :?

Try DriftSchool 2.0 by TGF.

I have to be honest, I've been missing those good old competitions (GRC, ToM, GLMS, etc), and those major competition organizers. :shake:

Drifting isnt about time of drifting, in real comps points are mainly depending on speed and angle

Maybe my knowledge about GR comps arent big, but I think that there can be clipping points on a track, and gr calculates average speed, also you can see is the car going sideways when looking at ghost lap to avoid too much gripping. Dont forgot that drifting isnt about racing.
