Joint Effort Rally Project

This started as an idea during discussion about stage rallying in GR, it is easy to start a rally, finish one, two stages but it's difficult to finish whole rally with numerous stages.

First rally is finished!
Barum Czech Rally Zlín
Safari Rally Kenya

Rules
You can sign up any time before project is finished.
You can sign up to make a stage or just a layout or to help somebody with FT.
Remeber that your stages can be modified (and most likely will be at the end) to fit the project better, but you will be always credited.
So far there is no limit for how many stages we would do until we are finished (but the final number might be around 10-12 :) )
Rules will be updated as the time goes on so we can do the project properly.

I never did anything as complex as this and I would appreciate your help :).

Well put my name down. I think at the end of 9 (?) maps we should end it but someone should go through and make very light finishing touches such as starts and finishes etc. i.e. one person might add something that others don't which could lead to 9 tracks that appear to have no relation.

If there will be some tracks available, I'll be happy to fit those tracks together. ^^

Yeah, some FT will be great for those details...

And, Dan, put my name in!
BTW, Dan, I sent you my tracks yesterday, did you saw them?

psst... put spaces in the track tags :)

This seems like a good idea to me! I won't participate though, I'm not skilled enough or motivated enough.

I also think that this is a great idea for a project, but I don't think that I will participate because doing a proper stage, with WS >200, seems like such a big effort. If it is possible to make a smaller one, say 150-170, it'd be more tempting to me. I'll have to think about it :)

Anyway, I wish the best of luck to this project :D

Well it doesn't have to be bigger than 200. All the stages I'm working on at the moment are ws 200.

WS 200 should be the limit .
Thanks for interest :). First thing we should start with is making the layouts of stages, for the reference you can use rally maps :). I know it's impossible to fit whole stages into GR landscape but we can make the straights shorter and important parts of stages bigger and more detailed. There are onboards and even live broadcasts from few stages from Barum Rally 2012.

I want to sing up to this project, because I have very big motivation. But I don't know, if my skills are good enough.

Looks good Otto :bg:. What is the ws you used? I should start my stage too :D. I choose famous Maják :).

Frukis motivation is the key! If you think your skills are not enough, at least you can try :), we can help you if you post previews in this thread ;).

Ok. I will start today, but I don't know, what stage i will do. If SSS in center of zlin, or Slusovice. Majak is good idea Dan, and someone can make Pindula. This part is legendary.

Slusovice would be a lot easier for you as a beginner :) you know city centre is difficult to recreate ;). Are you going to do the part with horse racing track? There is record of live broadcast from Slušovice at mediasport.cz :).

Ok. I make Slusovice. I have 120page magazine all about Barum rallye, with all stages. It's very helpful. And the videos are helpful too. Thanks :bg:
And yes. The one with the horse course. And with "Jump u Johana"

Nice :). Just remember to make more important parts bigger and straights shorter :) You don't neccesarily have to fit whole stage into GR version ;).

Looks nice :). But be careful not to get too close to edges of the GR world and I think some of the roads are too narrow (but of course there is no car for reference ;) ).

Here is my Maják, WIP I have just the layout from start until "Prohled", it's just a part of real stage :). Maybe I will need some help with villages later ;). I showed where there will be villages and fields, forests but still this is a wip.

BTW please don't add too many spectators right now, that will be job for FTer I think.

I agree with you, Dan... And your stage looks very good, i like what you did with the houses, its good to not have 100 cloned houses :P
FRUKIScze: You should test you lmap on GR, narrow roads need to be at least 1 and a half car width...

BTW, there's some progress on mine, i hope its not too hard, i always put trees too close to the road :?

It seems ok :). But I'm not very sure about that village in bottom middle, it should have some sort of structure, some side roads and stuff :).

I think i solved this 'problem', BTW, my stage is based on Pindula, but just the scenery, not the layout...

Looks great guys! But, Dan & Otto, your stages seems to bit too smooth in flow ATM, if you plan to create as most true feeling as possible, you need not to forget to use some 'retarders' here and there on the stages like e.g. BBA did in his Germany or FRUKIScze included in his layout. :shhh:

Well, i understand what you are talking about, but maybe on the next stages, mine is almost ready, and its far from smooth
