It's VEEERRRRY well known. This company has made some of the most successful cars in the world and won races in top tier sports like Le Mans and F1. It's so obvious, even a dumb 1st grader knows about this car company.

Stewart-Ford don't count, because Ford were the engine manufacturer, and in fact I'm fairly sure it was actually a Cosworth engine with a Ford badge.

Well, it says on Stewart Grand Prix's article that Jackie Stewart had very good connections with someone high up at Ford, Ford invested in the team heavily and in 2000 Ford bought the team outright.
